Omg checked out David’s tea online.... I’m so excited for a replacement for Teavanna!!! And I can order online.

Thank you so much!

I have a cold press pitcher too and love it! I don’t sweeten but stevia is a great choice for those who do.

Oh no... I spoke too soon! Just a FYI, everyone follow your own plan.... but the David’s teas have added sugar. The Teavanna ones don’t.

Oh bummer. I just looked at some of the hot tea blends, and not all of them have added sugar. So I'd just evaluate the ingredients before picking a blend. Obviously, Jess is right... follow your plan. But the calories and added sugar doesn't seem to be unreasonable.

If you drink hot tea, the carrot cupcake doesn't have "added sugar", rather sugar occurring from natural ingredients. But it is delicious! I'm not sure what your plan is, if this would prevent you from being able to try certain blends.

I just hate that they add the sugar in... why do they need to do that? They do it with so dang many things these days... heck they do it to some lunch meat and bacon! They create a drive for it which is self perpetuating.

I just do so much better when I don’t include it. Then I appreciate the natural sweetness in things and don’t have the cravings.

Yeah, not too bad overall with 1g per cup (though be careful of how much they consider a cup) but why do they need to add it at all? It makes me sad.

It looks like it’s the ones (mostly) with the “tropical” fruits that have added sugar. So if you avoid ones with mango, pineapple, guava and the like there are lots without added sugar. But you need to read closely!

I agree, I avoid everything with added sugar. These teas will be a hard exception though, they are too good to pass up. I don't feel guilty drinking them, as I have a hard time with fluids.

I add stevia to mine, so I don't get that real opportunity to enjoy the natural sweetness.

Let me know what flavors you end up getting. I’m still trying a lot of the hot tea flavors. So many to choose from.

So I happened to be in the mall today and passed David’s Tea!

I tasted the frozen raspberry and loved it! Also got the Me to We which they described as a starburst candy flavor. Excited to drink these cold and have something other than Water. I believe they are both low on caffeine as well which i like.

thanks for the suggestion!

Love the Me to We! It’s really good!
I love that they make caffeine free and they have a rating system for the others.

I wasn't a big tea drinker before, but I have been looking for different Decaf drinks to enjoy. I have tried several herbal kinds since surgery but the store bought ones don't have enough flavor, or don't have good flavor. I'll have to look these up to try.

When I was in the hospital after surgery they had a brand called Rituals decaf orange pekoe tea, it was so good, but I can't find it anywhere. The funny thing was when I googled it I found commentary from other people who were also looking for it and had also tried it while in a hospital, lol. It must be a hospital cafeteria thing.

I haven’t had one that disappoints. They even have blends that you can add almond milk to and make a “latte”. I was drinking flavored box tea from the grocery store and steeping double the bags to enhance the flavor, I don’t need to do that with David’s Teas.

I just got my first order of tea from Golden Moon tea. Their teas have real leaves and flowers, no tisanes. I'm excited to try them out, after I get back from having my surgery, next week.

I'll have to check out done of the brands everyone's mentioned in this thread. 1524708862167.jpeg

OMG! Thank you so much for posting this.

I was absolutely heartbroken when Teavana announced they were closing their stores. I am a huge fan of tea. I drink hot tea every day, most of the day. I got my loose teas online or in Chinese markets for years until I came across a few types I liked from Teavana. My current favorite has been Teavana's Dragonfruit devotion, an herbal/fruit mix. I was so crushed about the closing that every time I was in the vicinity, I bought as much of the Dragonfruit Devotion as I could afford. I'm officially a tea hoarder and have several sealed bags of it in my pantry.

Was so glad to hear of David's got on their website and they have some interesting herbal mixes and carry the standards for green tea. They even have pu'erh, which can be a challenge to find as a loose tea. I'll definitely be trying David's!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
