More about the "girls"

Recommended Posts

My sisters:

I'm 9 months and 150 lbs lost on this WLS journey and at this point, my whole body looks like a deflated balloon on a parade float--especially my breasts!! I went from a DD to about a C, and a 46 band to a 38 band. My problem is finding a good, everyday bra that contains everything into something resembling the shape of a breast. If the sides are too low, I get major underarm bulge, if the cup isn't quite right, I'm just misshapen. Anyone found a good solution? At least one a week I seem to be going to stores and trying on 10 bras that don't fit right. Unfortunately, I live out in the boondocks and there is no store that does any kind of fitting. Eventually I will have to travel to NYC for that.

Thanks!

I haven't even thought that far ahead. Good luck in your search. I was only a C at my highest weight, so I'll probably be looking at training bras when I'm done. (A cup - extra long!)

First, make sure to get a truly accurate size, most women wear the wrong size in the US.

A good place to start—

https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/measuring

https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/wiki/manual_sizing_guide

Then figure out shape—

You can also search the site for weight loss—

And for recommendations. That site can be truly life changing as far as bras go!

I know that Victoria's Secret is a bit spendy. But so worth it in my opinion. I went from a 42dd to 38dd. I went there and got two bras and am in love with them!

I like an all-in-one bra and shaper that has cups - there are other brands besides Spanx, but I really like my Red Hot by Spanx.

Did you happen to find out, what Secret Victoria has been hiding? Been wondering myself for years. And how come its called Amazon when its right here in the US of A? And lastly, why isn't it called Eternal Revenue when you have to,pay them forever and forever?

Another great resource—

http://www.bratabase.com

Be careful at Victoria Secret. The girls there will try and make you fit into a size they carry and they carry a very limited size range.

I can relate. I can't quite find what works for the boob and side situation. I laugh because I found one bra that gave too much support the girls were lifted like a shelf to my chin. Others just gave more side issues.

What I've found so far that works for me.

Daisy fuentes full figure. I go up a size in band helps the side situation. The cups give s great shape. Larger straps on the shoulders. Four claps and larger back band.

Thanks to @jess9395 for the suggestion. Victoria secret-VSX-Knockout sports bra. Zip front and clasp.. Separates lifts and keeps the girls held tight for exercise..lol

Talked to my girls this morning. They told me they are old and tired like me, as long as I am gentle and don't cram them too hard they don't care what brand I put them in. Don't know for sure why they are so grouchy, they are 12 years younger than the rest of me. Of course there isn't as much gap between 60 and 72 as there used to be 😟

*laughing*

All I can do is lift with my hand and tuck the girls in a bra cup. It's not the brand name for me it's all about the fit and support. No need for the girls to hang to my belly button.

Wow, thank you. I'm going to have to set aside a whole afternoon for this project, but sounds like it will be worth it!

See if there are any Hanes/Playtex outlet stores near you. They should do fittings there. Or look for specialty bra shops in your area. Or maybe even an upscale department store has a bra fitter. They are hard to come by anymore.

When you do find a bra that you fits you, put your shirt back on so you can see how the girls look in your clothes with the bra on.

Toodles,
Rue

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
