notthedoublegoodbye 13 Posted April 23, 2018 Hi everyone. I've loved having this here as a resource I think I'm on it 10 times a day So thanks everyone! I'm now 11 days post sleeve and I've been eating pureed Soup, starting with thin and strained and now fairly thick but still blended, and Protein Shakes with no problem and feel like I could eat solids for sure. My dietician just sent me my diet sheet for the next 3 days and to my great joy it has boiled chicken and mashed potato. I've been so hungry since the op I'm really excited to eat some solid food! My question is that it seems soon compared to everyone else from what I'm reading online and that concerns me a bit. Did anyone else begin that phase at this stage? Just FYI my programme does seem different to a lot of people's. I didn't do a pre op liquid diet just low calorie until the day before and then I had no food at all
aNYCdb 310 Posted April 23, 2018 Every program is different, some people leave the hospital on puree. At the end of the day nothing two weeks out is going to damage anything, worst case it causes you some temporary discomfort. My doctor's philosophy is try anything and if it gives you issues, wait before trying it again. 2 Orchids&Dragons and sillykitty reacted to this

I'm sure you are happy to progress into more substantial food. I hope it helps with your hunger. Congrats on your surgery.
Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted April 23, 2018 Yeah! It's wonderful to move onto real food! Just take it slow.
domi 237 Posted April 28, 2018 On the purée stage I can have chicken and fish. I either have to purée it or chew it to the purée stage. I’m chewing it. It takes forever but I think I wouldn’t like the mushy texture of purée.
notthedoublegoodbye 13 Posted April 28, 2018 Well I've been eating food since posting this and I'm relieved to report everything has been great! I'm finding it a big change to eat really slowly. I was never a fast eater but I need to slow it down to the point where the food is going cold! But that's a small inconvenience and I'm so relieved that so far I haven't had problems with anything I've eaten. It's shocking how little I can manage but that's the whole point I suppose! All in all it's going great. Xx 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
