destiny79 0 Posted October 31, 2007 From what I know about the plan Aetna requires the 6 months supervised diet in other to get approved. so it looks like your Dr. is right
cbrock1592 0 Posted November 1, 2007 I also have Aetna POS II and they wanted proof of a six month supervised diet. Once I had all the proof of trying, I was approved (my BMI was 40 starting out). Good luck!
aubrie 6 Posted November 1, 2007 I have Aetna POS II as well. they have treated me like &%$#. I'm going through an appeal now. I did the 6 month diet, had sleep studies, ($100) went to a dietician ($100), had my rhumetolgist document the pain in my knees, hips and spine resulting from weight, my OB/GYN stated it caused my stress incontinence to be worse, during that 6 month diet my blood pressure meds had to be increased, and I was denied. Went back and did a psych evaluation and also had my heart doctor send records and documentation about my heart for the appeal. If I don't get approved this time I'm getting an attorney. Good luck. I HATE Aetna.
Flowerpurr 0 Posted November 1, 2007 Hello, I also have Atena insurance and they will cover you if you company allows it as one of the benefits. I am starting my journey down the same path. Though I can't get Aetna to help me at all. But good luck with the six month diet. I am trying to go for the three month.
