I was only eating around 300 calories and less than 20g carbs a day. My surgeon wanted me to eat 3 meals a day but wasn’t able to eat enough to get any calories or carbs in!! So I had to start eating small meals several times a day. Now I eat at Breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner and snack. I’m getting around 600 calories and closer to 30 or 40g carbs a day. The first day I did it, I felt like I was eating way too much and worrying about bad habits by eating several times a day. But that’s what it takes to be able to increase my calories and carbs and get the scale moving again. My stall was exactly 3 weeks long. A very long 21 days.

I am a year out and have lost 113 pounds. Every single stall I have had has been relieved by upping my calories. Currently I eat abt 1400 a day w 60 to 85 g of Protein.

That is an interesting observation!

I don't know if I prolonged my stall by drinking wine, but I cut that our and scale is moving again. What a crazy month!! Hopefully things are more smooth next month.

Isn't it funny how 600 calories feels like too much now? Lol

I remember one of my last meals before my pre-op diet was a Wendy's double with cheese, baconater fries, large Coke, large frosty.. Total of 2270 calories! And that was only my lunch!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
