Aenta Insurance tips for approval!

Hello,

I have Aenta, any suggestions on what I should be doing or making sure my doctor does so my claim is approved for surgery? My 3rd appointment with my surgeon is Friday.

First, I assume you called Aetna to make sure bariatric surgery is covered on your plan. Then read Aetnas clinical policy for obesity surgery and make sure you meet all the criteria listed & that you have done the required Physician-supervised nutrition and exercise program or Multi-disciplinary surgical preparatory regimen. If you've done everything required then you should be approved without issue. Good luck!

Yup, it's covered. I should qualify under the Multi-disciplinary prgram and only need 90 days, nitrition and pscyh eval and not gain weight before I can get approval. Just wondering if anyone else had Aetna and had any issues.
