So I made pizza for dinner and sadly couldn’t eat much (yay!).

It is a turkey fest! 1 slice of turkey bacon, 6 slices of turkey pepperoni and 1.5 ounces of ground turkey. 1.5 ounces of cheese, 2 tablespoons of sauce, few mushrooms on a cauliflower crust. 4-5 servings.

Protein goals met! Yep!

Although I have made the crust from raw cauliflower before I found it too time consuming. I now keep these in the freezer:

They also make great chips for dipping in hummus. :)

I miss chips! I'll have to give this a shot, thanks!

This looks SO good, I may have just ordered a stack of the cali'flour crusts even though I'm 4 weeks away from being able to eat real foods. pizza is my #1 craving/food I miss, and it doesn't help that there are SO MANY COMMERCIALS for all sorts of pizza when I watch tv! Can't wait to be able to try these out!!

I've been saving a bunch of different cauliflower recipes. Probably start experimenting this week.

For a ready to eat option y'all should try Real Good pizza. They're 25g Protein per serving and only 4g of carbs. I think the crust is made of chicken and cheese. You can find them at Kroger or HEB. You can also order them online.

I am eating them preop because I like them. They taste awesome!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
