Searching for other tall, pear-shaped muscular women

Recommended Posts

I’m looking for other women like me that will share their weight loss experience! I’m nervous I won’t lose as much as I want to. I’m a lifelong vegetarian and already work out three times a week. I’ve been athletic my whole life but have an extremely hard time losing weight. I did strict Keto for a year between my pregnancies and lost 48 lbs but plateaued and was never able to get below 248 no matter what I did.

Im 5’10” and I’ve never been thin or even average. At 12 years old I was 5’9” and 205 lbs. I wore a size 16 pants. I hadn’t even gone through puberty yet. I can’t identify with women who were thin when they were young and then gained a lot of weight. I did gain weight gradually but at 205 I was a size 16 and at 296 I’m a size 20. I honestly feel like I’m exactly the same size as I was back then; my body just feels older, but I still / always felt like a big person. Being tall contributes to that.

I’m approved for surgery but need to hear that there are other women out there like me, who have been big their whole life but are also strong and athletic. My goal weight is 200 lbs. I’d love to be a solid size 14 and feel like clothes today are better for pear-shaped women like me.

Count me in I'm 5ft 8in currently 323, size 26-28, aiming for 175 and a size 15, will still be satisfied if I am in the upper reaches of onderland, like 190 to 198. But I will accept every acheivement I get, good health more important, than the scale #.We can and shall prevail in this battle, Wonder Woman, Sheerah Princess of Power and all the rest- I will stand tall beside you!🔅👊

I’m 36. Almost 6’ tall. Pear shaped and have an athletic build.
I was 324 at my highest but floated around 300 for a long time. I’ve lost weight a bunch of times successfully getting to 220 or less a few times. I got sleeved on January 9th and I’ve lost 63 pounds. It’s been super easy for me because as you said, I’m healthy, enjoy working out and love healthy food. I always just ate too much and also ate way too many carbohydrates. So...my first goal is 200 as well and ideally 185.

Thanks so much for replying! Honestly, I don’t even know what 200 will feel like and it freaks me out as I’ve never been that small, even as a pre-teen. 220 is my first goal and I know I’ll feel amazing at that weight. I just have this thought that it somehow won’t work for me and my body will just refuse to get smaller, but hearing that you’ve lost that much so quickly with the same frame as mine gives me a lot of encouragement. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
