Good morning - you have all been very busy!

Ebony - "wog" I love it! What a sad story, my heart goes out to you. Call, email, whatever, make some noise on the job front. They will think that you care and it also puts your name at the front of their minds again. Good luck!

Lu - sending positive thoughts your way for DH BF!

Heart - yeah for DD! Putting your face under the Water is the big step - the rest is cake!

Glouc - crossing fingers for you on the job front!

Beth - five classes! Man you will be busy! You would be amazed at the number of parents that try to control everything that their children do. They come in expecting us to change grades, etc. I have now been hearing that they are actually calling the colleges and talking to profs! OMG, I could not even imagine doing that! Guess it would make a for a good laugh for the prof and more incentive to give the kid the grade they get!!! So, I can believe that she called the recruiter and asked to let him out. Parents are crazy sometimes!

I am sad that DD is leaving in the fall for college, but I am also so excited to see her get started on this new part of her life and to find out who she is and what she wants to do. I told her that I will probably cry when we drop her off, but she is not allowed to come home for the first 6 weeks. She laughed and said that was great, because she "has to leave before you can miss me, mom!"

Yeah, I found it and the put 2 and 2 together.

Thanks, Susan. Good lord, it's like The Song That Never Ends. Her AND her posse. It's like shut UP and step away already.

I was disappointed it was closed, as well.

But Glo, I was very impressed with your response. You Said what most everyone was thinking. Nice job.

I do think that there should be a place here where it's a kind of "no holds barred"...the "wild west"......Where you go and play at your own risk. There are sometimes things that just need to be said.

Of course, you'd never catch ME there.... (cough, cough).

Yeah, I am feeling a little confrontational right now....I was already typing in my head - and then BAM! closed!

LOL

I guess it's for the best. No real breakthrough will be had online, and I know that. But, I really was curious - interested in change or not?

And, is it wrong to want to flick the little posse fly off?

Problem is, I would think (like in many places I've been) the hostilities that are fed and flamed in a place like that would spill over into the tamer boards. Not always, but if it did, it causes a lot of grief for the mods.

However, I was shocked at the OH forums where their rants-and-raves style board is just that -- absolutely NO holds barred. I can give cussing a good run, but I was hearing words that even I had never heard before!

I didn't stick around, though, so whether it spills out of that forum is not known to me.

I was actually about ready to hit the SAVE key on a Post in that thread when Elisabeth locked it Yesterday .

I believe that I was commenting on the piece of chicken she had eaten. I think I was saying that based upon everything I had seen in her thread, it was clear that this was not the FIRST time she had taken something very large and inappropriate down her throat.

But of course I DIDN'T say that...and I wouldn't say that.

Would I?

Well, think I'm gonna get off my "fat ass" and go out to see a movie. Will be back later with my superior criticizabilitiness of it.

Back at work....after heading home for not so much fun times w/Ramen noodles.

I also put the hot bowl on the dining room table and took off part of it when I lifted the bowl up! D'oh!

Good thing I hate that table anyway!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
