*susan* 1,709 Posted December 17, 2008 I am glad someone else was familiar with the Trixie Belden series. I don't feel like such a geek now. Plain, I love Joey from friends and knew that was who you were doing. This is my favorite time of year at work. I know I have mentioned before that I work in the fundraising department for a not-for-profit that takes care of abused, abandoned, and neglected kids. I am so proud of the community, despite the economy they are coming through with tons of gifts to make sure all our kids have a great Christmas. I just finished being on live tv showing us collecting and loading up a ton of the gifts. It was fun.

luluc 6 Posted December 17, 2008 well susan your post was what i needed. i have not been into xmas at all; ran out to the grocery store just now for a few things, and bought 6 families christmas day dinner. haven't done a damn thing for my family just yet; but that's sorta getting me in the mood. the tree only has lights on it; and that's because DH did it. thanks,

*susan* 1,709 Posted December 18, 2008 It really is great to see people help out like that. We always try to sponsor a couple of the kids ourselves. My kids really look forward to shopping for them. It always helps get us in the spirit.

BethFromVA 5 Posted December 18, 2008 Right? It's a GPS; not a bar of gold or a heart for pete's sake!!! EXACTLY! I've seen stupid little things packaged like that: scissors, small inexpensive hand tools, toys... it's insane! You about slice a finger off just trying to get into the damn thing and ruin your scissors trying to cut it. About takes a freakin' blow torch to get in.
Gracey 7 Posted December 18, 2008 I always wonder how my grandmother who's 89 would get into this horrible packaging! Booooooo
