Susan, my debit is backed by MasterCard, which is not sounding like a great thing. The bank said it is about a 50/50 chance of them finding in my favor on the dispute. I did the police report and the formal dispute today---they were really nice, but not really hopeful. According to the way it looks they are claiming it is a signature transaction----so if I am agreeing to charges in my home town and at the same time there are charges being done in India----how am I 2 places at once??? I will go with an attorney if need be, I'd rather give him my damn money than just let the company think I am gonna let them off! Might be a good thing to have the legal flex through DH's work!

Hmmm, I was reading an article today about how all the bank mergers might affect Visa versus Mastercard's share in the market. Doesn't seem as if I want a MC if they're jerking Kat around!

Not just Texas. I had a business trip to Atlanta in Feb one year, and had a car rented. When I picked up the car at the airport, it had snow tires on it. Meanwhile I was peeling off my layers of down coat, scarf, gloves, and boots because it felt like spring. Really, snow tires in Atlanta in Feb???.

I live in Atlanta. In almost 6 years, there ain't neva been a need for wool much less snow tires. That rental car was brought it, not hatched here!

I love, love Chicago! I despise summer down here but I don't know that I could do the bone marrow cold up there especially after I get my band and lose weight, babay!!! :(

A stray dog came and jumped on me this morning as I was walking to my car....Not maliciously, she's actually overly friendly. I want to keep her, but DH put his foot down. She's a cute little yellow lab.

And, I have her paw print right in the middle of my belly to remember her by.

Anyone want a cutie-pie yellow lab?

:cool2: No, no pics. She's lean, though, very underfed. The last time we did yard work, I put a bowl of food and Water out. She had some, but then, the pitt bull that runs with her (the male) came and ate it all. So, I doubt she gets a lot to eat. I've seen them going through trash in the mornings.

I've debated about calling the SPCA, but I know right now they're swamped with calls about abandoned animals from Ike.

Yeah...we really don't have the room for another big dog. I am such a sucker, though. I know SPCA will put the Pitt down, and that makes me sad. Although, he's not friendly so I'm not sure what they could do with him. I think the lab keeps him from attacking people.

Posting to say the Georgia State Fair starts this weekend...

I will not eat a funnel cake - oh they are so my weakness. I haven't tried anything else deep fried - I really don't want to know what I may be missing. Hoping DH and I can go this weekend - seeing if MIL will keep the kids. We just like to walk around, maybe ride the scrambler - I can fit now - whohoo! When we take the kids it costs at least $200.00. I don't know and haven't decided yet. The local fair comes the first week in November - we're definately taking the kids then...got to go to the demolition derby - ah cars, crashes and the smell of burnt oil - gotta love the south! (maybe they have those elsewhere too - I don't know). I'm not going to the lawnmower races this year though - I'll wait for the real action.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
