I hate it when people post just to post.....

I hate using library computers. One hour per day is just not enough time for my lap band talk addiction.

BBk, They are probably not letting you exercise, are they? I would freak out if I couldn't exercise. It's my stress reliever. Being unfilled wouldn't be as bad, but being unfilled and not being able to exercise is just plain scary!

Yeah, thanks for that reminder...lol...blah....

I will be returning to it next week though, walking can't kill me. And if it does, I will be still a small so I will be happy. Sick aren't I?

Anyone watching women's volleyball? Seriously I thought I was tall, but 6'7". WOW! Amazing!

Sorry, I've been AWOL. I was letting some guy I just met put a camera up my butt.

They found some polyps too so now I have to come back and get it done again in a few years.

Wow thats an interesting first date

Sorry that you have to have it again though Mac

I'm just home from work. Working 2 jobs sucks. I want my weekends back. No "me" time turns me into a whiney bitchy bitch. Well, more so that usual.

BBK, you look absolutely amazing! Anyone who doesn't think so needs to shove it up where the sun don't shine.

MacMadame, I am sorry that you had someone put a camera where the sun don't shine. Better safe than sorry though.

As for me, this is my official Sunday morning happy post!!:thumbup::smile::thumbup:

After struggling for the past year, being overfilled, slipping my band, being afraid to get a fill due to the fear of being overfilled again and gaining way too much weight, I think I am finally back at my sweet spot. My wonderful doctor called me and said I hadn't been in for over five months and it was time to come in. I went in. He saw how much weight I gained and asked me what happened. I told him, no restriction and afraid of being overfilled. He then promptly gave me the kick in the butt I needed. He said I got the band for a reason, and that was to lose weight. He said his job is to get me to a healthy BMI. He informed me I wasn't going to like him very much, but he was going to give me an aggressive fill in which I wouldn't be able to eat more than 8-10 bites of food at a time. He said it was going to force me to relearn the bandster rules of taking tiny bites and chewing my food to mush, otherwise I was going to be pretty darn uncomfortable. Well, he was right, the first couple of days I didn't like him much. I pb'd like crazy. Then, I started practicing my long since abandoned bandster rules of eating. To my surprise, when I eat like a bandster should, I don't pb and I get full fast. And, I lost 5 pounds this week!! I am so thankful to have a doctor who isn't afraid to be a hard-ass with me when he knows that is just what I need. Hopefully, I am back on track now and no longer afraid of getting a fill when I need it.

Posting to post that the USA men's basketball game is making me nervous and I don't even like basketball! How are the Spaniards doing so well against our HIGHLY paid guys? :-X

Mac - sorry that you have polyps but I am so glad they found them before they turned into anything. One of my gf's just found out she has breast cancer and she's mid-40's. I'm just praying they found it early and it isn't in her lymph nodes.

Thanks all. This is one time I will NOT be listening to Dr's orders.

Mac--I am so sorry. I have been there, not fun at all. My thoughts are with you!

Sick--lol...I agree.

I agree. What's the point of having these BMI ranges and pushing people to get into them if they freak out when we do?

Well it's not all bad. I seemed to have dropped 3 lb. and it doesn't appear to be coming back like I figured it would. In fact, today my scale flashed 199.5 before settling on 200.5. Too bad it's not my official weigh in day. :(

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
