One of my cousins used to get out the mayo jar and a spoon and just go to town. I like mayo....but not that much.

:)

1 tbsp has 90 calories, of which 90 calories are fat.

I had my surgery today and was hungry because I had to fast. We stopped at KFC on the way home. My doctor said I couldn't eat solids but they went down just fine. Did anybody's doctor tell them that they couldn't eat solids but they really could with no pain or anything. Do you think my doctor knows what she is talking about?:eyebrows:

My Dad made it for her. He was soooo good at word working. He made the coolest things.

He was going to burn her name in it but I didn't want him to. I mean... she's not gonna last forever and I don't want to name every dog I get in the future "Alex". :)

Now that is cute. And so cool to remember your dad when you baby is snoozing in it.

I heard if you laugh while you have a port it will pop out like the red thing on a turkey when it's done.

Does that mean you are done losing weight when the red thing pops out?

I wouldn't laugh too hard, it might pop out before you are done.

Maybe you shouldn't breathe very much. My sister's friend's husband's boss said that if you breathe a lot when the red thing comes out your lungs help to push it out some more.

I'd take GasX if I was you. That should help.

Sure hope you are done.

Maybe she should go pee... And stop at KFC and eat the buffet on the way to the doctor!

I was reading that KFC post and getting really angry before I remembered what thread I was reading.:heh:

Hi Everyone!

I am just about rolling off the couch reading all of these crazy posts! I can't breathe! LOL :) Thanks so much for the entertainment!

My laughter was tempered somewhat by some of the messages I've come across this evening on multiple threads I visited. They are actually discouraging me from participating on this site any more. Multiple personalities? Aliases? Following people from site to site just to be mean? Who has the time to do things like this? I am totally creeped out! :)

I guess I'm very naive, but I thought we were all here to support one another in our Quest to become healthier...not to tear one another down just because we are not all identical. I for one am grateful that I can interact with all kinds of people because I can learn a lot. Those of you who are fussing at one another are just beating a dead horse..just quit communicating with one another and give the rest of us who are trying to be positive a break! :deadhorse: I feel like I'm on the school yard with my third graders again...OMG! Traumatic flashback time! "Do I have to call your parents or are all of you going to behave starting right now?" :)

Enough of my soapbox ranting. Time to get back to the topic du jour...I have to say that the funniest question I've seen so far is: "Is licking a chicken McNugget considered cheating on the post-banding diet?"

I read that one when I had just been banded. It hurt SO bad to laugh! I thought my band was going to POP right back out! My son wanted to know what demented soul would actually want to lick a McNugget on purpose! Of course, he's a 6'4" teen who eats everything he can get his hands on. Although he did break his jaw once, so he ought to know what it's like not to be able to eat solid food... :D

I'll close with this urgent statement:

I like kumquats! :faint: Sorry, I just couldn't resist! :)

People do some weird things. When I went for my first post-op visit, my doc told me I had lost weight and yay, way to go. I told him it seems to be very hard to NOT lose weight if you are only drinking things. That's when he told me he had a patient that drank an entire bowl of gravy! Ewwww

But then again, I'm not a big one to talk. Towards the end of my mushie stage, I took a small piece of steak and threw it in the Magic Bullet with reduced sodium soy sauce. Ate like two tablespoons and was satisfied with it.

My brother used to eat corn and ketchup. Blah....

Oh yeah...my random post....

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

:faint:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
