Call channel 3!

Sitting in the airport, reading boards on the BlackBerry, and this guy asks me if I can help him? Sure, I say, what's up?

"Can I use your phone to make a call?"

"No, sorry, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that."

"Well, you're not using it."

"Actually, I am online right now... Using the phone."

"But you aren't talking."

"No, but that doesn't change the fact that it's my phone, my comfort."

He walks about 10 feet away, turns around, and tries again.

"The answer is still 'no'."

He walks over to someone else and tries them. Idiot hands his phone over and then has to follow the phonenapper as he tries to walk away!

Sheesh!

awwwwwwww, Froggi is SO mistreated....

People reap what they sow.

Why don't you get a life and not hang out with people who make fun of other people in chatrooms. :| They started on me months ago before I said SHIT the other night. :scared2: I'm not gonna have this bullshit on the forums too.

The biggest problems with online forums and chat rooms is that there are so many personalities in the mix, that it is only a matter of time before they are going to clash. The other problem is that unless specifically noted, you often cannot tell from the typed word if someone is joking or being serious.

I have been visiting the chat rooms a bit lately due to being notified by several users of inappropriate things occurring there. Unfortunately, most of this seems to happen well after my bed time. :scared2: However, what I have witnessed is that there are some people who make some really off base comments and when others call them on it, things become quite heated. There is everything from long-term bandsters giving out some really bad advice, long-term bandsters giving out really good advice, newly banded folks validating others who want to cheat on their post-op diets, non-banded or newly banded folks who know nothing about the band and non-banded or newly banded folks who have done a ton of research and know a lot about the band. Then, there are the cliques who seem to always stick together no matter what. If one person says something, the other will swear by it. If someone disagrees with something someone in the clique says, the entire group attacks that person.

It can get pretty nasty in there at times. However, what the chat people sometimes seem to forget is that on LBT, the same rules apply in chat that apply in the forums. You attack the idea, not the person! Please remember, when you are in chat, if you feel someone is violating LBT rules, notify a moderator if there is not one in the room already. I know that myself and several of the other mods have our smart phones set up to receive instant notifications if anyone sends us a pm or email from LBT, or if a post is reported and we respond as quickly as possible.

Lastly, you know that wonderful saying "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"? I love that quote. I think what happens in the chat rooms needs to stay in the chat rooms and not be brought into the forums.

OK, stepping down from my moderator podium now. You may now return to your regularly scheduled ranting and raving. :wink2:

I have to rant and race. I am so freaking pissed off I could blow fire from my mouth. My oldest is going to GS camp. Well the plan has been SINCE February that my parents were taking my youngest for the week. My DH never get time alone, and that is not a lie. In the 9 years I have been a mother my kids have been watched by a babysitter 0, yes 0 times. Our family lives 2 houirs away so it has been AT LEAST 2 years since we have goen out together.

Well mommy dearest tells me that they are not taking Faith now. THe day before we were supposed to take her up there, It is total BS.

NO wonder I hate my family. F*CK.... No wonder my marriage is to shit too....grrrrr....thanks for listening! :scared2:

Hugs BBK. That sucks. I'd LOVE to have a week alone with my DH, I can't imagine planning it for that long and then having your plans ruined. My mother in law pulls shit like that a lot too. Mine are 7 and 5 and they've been away from us overnight THREE times in their lives, the first being this past February.

I hope she changes her mind or something comes through for you. Everybody needs a break and a chance to reconnect with their spouse.

A week alone, holy shit that would be nice ... not ever gonna happen until the boys are old enough to fly alone. My parents live to far away :scared2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
