Hang in there Froggi! Who'd you speak to? I'd speak to more than one representative. I got different answers from different people when I was trying to get my revision approved. I know it is an entire different situation though.

I was talking to 2 people, they said they didnt mean to scare me but like they don't know for sure until they get everything you know...I don't know how a bmi over 60 at starting wouldnt be enough, she was just trying to say that i would have more luck with health problems I guess. She was just wording things wrong and I am not going to try to worry myself to death and have a heartattack not knowing.

I plan on talking to my nurse about it hopefully tomorrow over the phone I seriously dont think the insurance can decline me when i started at a bmi of 61.9

It's just stressful, the insurance has made mistakes before, so hopefully they're just being dumbasses again.

At the end of the convo she said she didn't THINK I would have probs getting approved, but there's always that slight chance you know?

I thought it would supposedly good to not have health problems weighing over 400 lbs, but I guess if I did it would make things a bit easier.

But I don't have to goto a specialist for heart and lungs anymore, I just need a lung test and an EKG now so that's always a plus. I want them to come back negative but maybe a health problem might help.

But damn I do have depression, GERD, Anemia, irregular periods, and diverticulitus...I think those would help me

I work for a child-serving agency for abused, abandoned and neglected kids. They have a policy that we are not allowed to have any tatts exposed. So, I always have to wear pants to cover up mine. However, when we have our annual Rock 'n Ride, I show that baby cause I figure all the bikers there are showing theirs, how can showing mine hurt.

If I ever get skinny and am able to have a Tummy Tuck, I would love to get my belly button pierced.

Awesome. I have 5, and am comsidering a "half sleeve" when I get closer to goal and I can evaluate if I have loose skin. It's not loose right now, so I'm pretty optimistic. My wife thinks a huuuuge arm tattoo would be hot.

It is pretty hot! My husband is a walking tattoo and I love it. He's SEXXXY!!

Hey Froggi, don't worry too much. They're probably just required to tell you that just in case there is a small chance it doesn't work out. I think it will for you though.

Good luck Froggi. I hope they pay. Most people that are overweight have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea seems to be one the insurance companies will consider a need for WLS.

I just realized that I wear scrubs more than I wear regular clothes. Just to post. By the way, I'm thinking about working this in as my "tagline" in real life. Example:

Boss: "Trey, did you get those studies faxed"

Me: "I'm sleepy and I'm eating cheese. Just to post."

Wonder how many WTF looks I'd get?

Sorry to hear the latest bs about your insurance I hope you can get it straightened out. I guess each insurance company is different but still they should tell you this info ahead of time before they put you through all of this!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
