I knit and read more than I exercise. Does this mean that knitting and reading are my true addictions?

Where do I go for help for knitting and reading addictions?

I'd like to knit. I can't see very well even with my reading glasses on. You're lucky you're young enough to see. What do you knit?

My friend knitted the cutest little baby hat for my grandbaby that's due

I drank 23 Mt Dew's and my knitting and reading addictions were cured. If it worked for ME its certain to work for you too. We're all the same, after all.

By the way Chickie, nice new avatar :sneaky:

I'd love to be that good. At this stage I knit an awesome (Tom Baker era) Dr Who length scarf. They are good, but nothing exciting.

And a huge congrats on the new Grand Baby! How exciting for everyone (I love babies. They smell so good, glad I only had one though. They grow up and become petulant pre-teens way too quickly!)

Good stuff. I will send the kid out to buy some (so I don't have to leave the couch, given walking to and from the car, and into the shop could be considered exercise!)

Yeah, but no, but yeah, but no, but SHUT UP!

I did a baaad thing. I'd rather not say just now what it was, but if things play out the way I think they will, I'll have to post a thread link. Have to keep it on the down-low for now, though, or it may backfire.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
