Okay y'all, my blog is under construction. If anyone is interested, I'll PM the link. It's actually quite boring  even to me! But at least I started it...

TPG

P.S. I have no one to play with tonight - except Plain...and he scares me...and excites me...in a strange kinky kinda way :D. Ooops, did I just type that?

Why yes...yes you did. Oh, and PM me the link to your blog.

Ok - so I'm glad that I can occasionally share words of wisdom from my job - since apparently there are some basic life principles not taught in society today:

So unexceptable! I can't even imagine. Can they be turned in for neglect????

My DD was complaining about helping her grandparents pick out new cell phones today. I ever so politely informed her that she should appreciate the time that she has with them, they would do anything for her and someday she will be so glad that they were always a large part of her life! So I really can't imagine someone letting that happen - I miss my granny, she was the best and I would kick some ass if that every happened to her!

* grey hair - omg, what a PITA.....seems like they only hold color for 2wks then BAM, back w/a vengence.

Mine will be gone on Thursday - for a few weeks anyway!

* just got heartfires user name as well - hope your hubby is safe michelle

* plain & KC have nurse humor going on, have to re-read (too many mojitos i think)

* ebony, good thoughts on your interview today

You will do great!

* kristen, DH and i picked out some artwork last night; i'll take a pic when we get it back - again thanks for the link!

So glad that worked out for you!

* pool gal has a few days till surgery - exciting time, i got banded around holiday time and it was scary to start eating around turkey/xmas day

Yeah, she will be an official bandster!

* laundry fairy didn't show up yesterday; need to track him down and slap him a bit:

catch ya ltr!

PJTP-I had a fight with some medicine this morning. The medicine won. I have been having some major acne issues. I went to the doctor. She gave me an antibiotic and some topical hardline face cream. Well, the directions on the antibiotic said to take on an empty stomach (I should have known much better than this). It was awful. I WON'T be doing that again. I finally was able to get some hot chocolate down about an hour ago. It took me almost 2 hours to get 20 oz down, but it went down. It seems to be staying down. I will do liquids the rest of the day.

Sounds like a horrible way to start the day! Not good. Hope you were feeling better by the afternoon!

Forget cutting them out of the will, just cut the bastards!:mad2:

Oh yeah!

Lulu - my laundry fairy didn't show up either . I think those beotches are prolly together somewhere drinking mojitos.

Have a great day everyone!!

TPG

That is where the laundry fairy went! Damn, I wonder if they have all the socks?:huh2:

Ooh, some of the warm ups before the workout are harder than the whole workout. I'm scared of Billy . I think I'll stick to the pool.

I have heard of the pain and never want to go there!

Ebony, I'm sure you aced the interview. And as for WL, you are an inspiration. And my doc loved it when I called it "wogging" in the pool :tt2:.

I just love that word, makes me smile!

I hope everyone else had a enjoyable day. I started working on my blog. (I just typed that as "blob". Wonder if that means something ) I think it'll be helpful to keep a record of this journey. We'll see. I'll post the link when I'm finally satisfied with it. BTW, how do you all feel about putting personal info on the net? I didn't post much, not even my name but there are ways of getting info. I want to put a link on for my jewelry business but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. That website does have all my info, phone numbers, etc. What do y'all think?

That is a tough one. If it was me, I might keep the two seperate. Business is business, personal is personal. That is just my 2cents.

Okay, washer is buzzing.:frown:

BBL,

TPG

Gee, some of the bandsters with blogs probably feel like I'm stalking them. I have subscribed to their blogs because I'm interested in what others are doing, talking about, their success, etc. I hope I didn't scare anyone  since they don't "know" me.

You are a stalker! Does anybody, really know you????

PJTP:

Okay, the surgery date looms. I have a list of stuff I want to take to the hosp with me and a list of stuff I'll need/want at home. I think I have all the basics: Gas-X, popsicles, Protein Powder, broth, Chapstick, etc. Any suggestions for stuff that I'm forgetting?? Any words of wisdom? I think I'm pretty prepared but....you've all BEEN there. Thanks!!

I never used the Gas-X, but everybody is different. I do give you a  for the chapstick! I took a small pillow to press against my tummy when I had to stand or sit up - that helped. Don't forget your laptop! I was a complete dork and was posting from the recovery room. Of course, that was before we had high speed at home and any chance of getting fast internet was an opportunity not to be missed!

TPG

I had a heating pad that I kept on my back to aid with the gas pain in the shoulder.

I made sure that I had a prescription for nausea medicine.

:w00t::thumbup:

PJTP...Hi!:D

HI!

Interview went great - talked to the doc who is the program director for the department I want to work for. Asked me a lot about my previous residency program experience, how I liked working with the docs, a little about different personalities and how I handle them...I think it went well.

Yeah!

Life in my soon-to-be-old-office is just too weird.

At least you will be out of there and they can deal on their own!

PJTP: Long, long day. I had a good swim this morning, played mommy taxi, met with my new store manager to go over her tasks and duties, had lunch with my parents and children(it was my dads b-day), ran errands for myself and school, went to WLS group, mommy taxi again and then home for the evening. Woosh! Now I will go to bed so I can get up and do it all over again!

*Thanks y'all for the good wishes! I'm hoping they'll release them to come home tomorrow but who knows. They aren't DOING anything right now except sitting at some station in Petaluma. He's mad b/c they're hoarding the strike teams instead of releasing them to send them home or to another fire. Our own unit is stripped and we have our own HUGE fire danger so this is kinda stinky business that this other unit is pulling.

*Glouc, you seriously do NOT want Peacocks! And the pretty ones are the males and the nastier of the pairs! The hens are plain, just like pretty much any other bird pairs.

HeeHee re: the firemen! LOL!

Ok - so I'm glad that I can occasionally share words of wisdom from my job - since apparently there are some basic life principles not taught in society today:

I don't even know what to say. That is just so sad!

* laundry fairy didn't show up yesterday; need to track him down and slap him a bit:

LOL! My laundry "fairy" is out of the county on overtime right now! DH does most of it. I'm going to have to suck it up and throw a load in soon.

PJTP-I had a fight with some medicine this morning. The medicine won.

Are you feeling better now? I sure hope so!

Just came in from my lunchtime walk - my less dedicated co-workers think I'm nuts

They're just jealous! They don't have the motivation that you do!

heartfire, I work for CalFire too. They tried sending me out on a fire last week but my boss denied them. :tt2: Well, he found out what happens here when you prevent properly trained employees from doing the departments mission. However, now that I'm allowed to go they have nothing. Interesting! I'm still next on the list though.

As for myself, well I'm just continuing my fight.

Tonight I have a date with Billy Blanks.

Are you overhead? Sounds like you're in an office? Bet the boss was not happy about getting busted! LOLl! DH is a station captain. Oh and just wait, we still have September and October to get thru! That's usually when all the "real" fires start! LOL!

Fight is all we can do sometimes. And I've heard others say that when they got back to basics things changed for them, for the good. It's easy to fall back in to bad habits. I certainly know that one! UGH!

How'd your date with Billy go? :frown:

I started working on my blog.

Maybe talk to Mac. She's got a public blog. I'm not real savy and I don't mind sharing but I try to also keep it on the down-low too. I think Beth has one too.

And I love jewelry! I have no money but I'd love to look at your stuff!

PJTP:

Okay, the surgery date looms. I have a list of stuff I want to take to the hosp with me and a list of stuff I'll need/want at home.

Personally, gas-x did nothing for me. It was outer abdominal gas that I had the most problems with, not the internal gas that some people get as well. I walked on the treadmill or around my house when it got bad. I only had a couple of days of it. I really don't remember being horribly uncomfortable tho I was on pain meds for a few days and I'm sure that had something to do with not remembering or not being too uncomfortable! :D

I took a huge bag full of stuff and only used the ipod that AM while waiting to go in to surgery. I didn't worry about a bra but I'm small enough to not have to be too worried about it. I wore slip on shoes and a over-the-head slip on dress about a size too big so I was comfy and didn't have to try to hard to get dressed. I also didn't have to spend the night so that would probably be different. Tho all I did when I got home was sleep anyway, so maybe not in my case.

PJTP...Hi!

Interview went great - ...I think it went well.

Sounds really good! Too bad you have to wait a whole week before you hear anything!

Your soon to be old office, needs to flippin' grow up!!!

G'night!

This (IMO) is the ultimate band "secret". Learning the difference between "sated" and "full" is the holy grail.

I agree. The other thing I'm having to learn is to stop the snacking! I did not realize how much of that I actually do! No wonder I was/am fat!

I apologize if I grossed anyone out with my post this morning - I was just very mad and frustrated.

Golf tournament was fun - But home now and sadly with my 10th wind of the day - will now attempt to stay up for a couple hours to try and make it through most of the night asleep.

Don't apologize. It was a horrible story, but I was fine. I am having a hard time imaging the maggots tho. That can't just start after only a few days. I think she was there longer than they're saying she was. They probably figured they'd better do something before she actually died b/c they'd be investigated and there'd be hell to pay! I still think they should be investigated for elder abuse!

Glad you had fun at the tourney! I hope you sleep well when you finally allow yourself to do so!

P.S. I have no one to play with tonight - except Plain...and he scares me...and excites me...in a strange kinky kinda way . Ooops, did I just type that?

LOL! I know what you mean! I do have a soft spot in my heart for the freaky guy! :w00t:

PJTP: Went to the city today for a fill appt. I was thinking he'd just give me a little tweak. Maybe .25. He gave me .50!! Kinda scares me! We'll see what happens. If I get stuck and I'm getting stuck too often, I'll get back in before we take off for Labor Day weekend b/c after that I won't have time and then I'll be out of STATE!

Had to take DD with me today. The last time I took her, she was AWFUL!!!! My doc had to get in her face! I was mortified!! So I was totally dreading what might happen today. And it's hard b/c we usually have to wait awhile and it just plain takes a long time! We were there today for over an hour. She did GREAT!!! I was SO relieved!! Made sure to tell her she did great too.

Afterwards we had to go to Target to get dog food and I bought her a little backpack for preschool! She's so cute! She wore it thru the whole store! Cracked me up!

Okay, it's off to bed. It's late. 'Night!

Morning all! Thanks for all of the well wishes. I feel much better today. I was finally able to eat some Soup last night for dinner. It went down fine. I won't be taking the medicine until after I have had something for Breakfast.< /p>

KC-you didn't gross me out. I just think it is sad how people treat each other today. You hear about so much violence today that just seems unfathomable.

TPG-I would love to read your blog. I also secretly think plain is pretty cool.:D

Morning all - Nothing too much to report on the Houston Front. It's muggy, but that's not different. It's hot, but that's not news, either.

Had to scramble this week to get DD vaccinated for 7th grade before school started. I really thought I'd have time, and then found out several places were OUT of one or more of the three the state requires. Crappolla...so, scrambled and found something.

On the agenda today: plan honeymoon cruise, get plane tickets for DD to visit her dad's mother in FL in October, and then budget (with the two quarters I have left).

Yep I have to agree Lu, avoid the peacocks. My inlaws neighbors have them, and they scared the hell outta me when I first was out there. They call all the time, day and night it seems, and the call sounds like someone yelling "HELP!" I kid you not!

There are dozens of pairs now roaming the river, and when I go ride, I hear them, and can never convince myself if it is birds or people I am hearing. My fear is someday it will be a hurt farmer, and I will ignore him thinking it is a damn peacock.

Keep the goats, or put an ad in for a good home, but avoid the trade!!! LOL

Off to work, have a good day all!

Of course the laundry doubled. It's worse than bunny rabbits!

It is Wed. I've got work to do but it's not going to happen til later tonight.

~Slim, I'm glad you're feeling better today!

PJTP: Well, I'm headed back to the city this afternoon for an unfill. I'm so tight hot tea doesn't even want to go thru! I was afraid of that. I should have just said to do the .25 instead of the .5. My sitter is available so DD will stay home today. I'll go down, get unfilled and come back home! UGH!

Off to get dressed and ready to go. Maybe I can get some work stuff done this AM before I have to leave. We'll see.

Heading home soon...got prices, but no actual plans in place.

Really upset with doctors right now. DD had blood work done on Aug 5th and I haven't heard back from anyone. Called the lab yesterday - no record at all of my DD. Called the ordering physicians office over and over and over again last 2 days and finally they called back today.

No. Record. Of. My. DD.

None. At all...as in they asked over and over her name and DOB...I got a lot of, "Ummm....aahhhhhh, welllll. Ma'am, we'll have to call you back."

Can ya'll say: SEETHING?

Good morning!

Went for an early morning run, met the volleyball girls to try on shoes and get sizes, met spirit wear vendor to approve colors for shirts, picked up DS and dropped him off for workout, met former student at school to give her a projector for her wedding this weekend, picked up DS, home for a few moments and then off to take DD to her oral surgeon to get her wisdom teeth pulled. BUSY! There is still more to do!!!!

I feel like I have 100 things to do, but they are all little minor things that have to be done! No substance.

Lu I hear ya on the laundry. Mine is always doubling - I can't keep up with it! Especially with teenagers in the house. DD does her laundry, so that is nice, but occasionally she sneaks in a couple of loads.

Michelle, hope you are feeling better! I am in the middle of debating (with myself) whether or not to have a fill. You know me and that damn plateau!

Slim, glad that you are feeling better!

Glouc, hot, muggy, sounds about right. Glad you were able to get the immunizations done! That is always a pain when they start running out. Honeymoon planning - FUN!

Hope you all have a great day!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
