OMG! He kicked my butt just trying to do the "warm up" video. I cannot imagine him with tools.

Ooh, some of the warm ups before the workout are harder than the whole workout. I'm scared of Billy :cursing:. I think I'll stick to the pool.

Ebony, I'm sure you aced the interview. And as for WL, you are an inspiration. And my doc loved it when I called it "wogging" in the pool .

Slim, sorry to have to tell you, the laundry fairy never shows up. Nor does the dishes fairy, the bathroom cleaner fairy...ah, sad, but true. Okay, maybe if I paid her she'd show up...

Diva, sounds like the WW thing is working well for you. I've read some of that thread. Interesting. Seems to be just what some people need to get going and keep going.

I hope everyone else had a enjoyable day. I started working on my blog. (I just typed that as "blob". Wonder if that means something ) I think it'll be helpful to keep a record of this journey. We'll see. I'll post the link when I'm finally satisfied with it. BTW, how do you all feel about putting personal info on the net? I didn't post much, not even my name but there are ways of getting info. I want to put a link on for my jewelry business but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. That website does have all my info, phone numbers, etc. What do y'all think?

Okay, washer is buzzing.

BBL,

TPG-I will admit to being pretty new to the internet forum game. I had never been a part of a forum until I joined here. I am naive about a lot of things, but I am not comfortable with personal info being out there for all to view. I know that people have ways of finding it out, but I won't help them.

Yeah, Slim, I agree. I think I won't put my website on my blog. I think I have all the stuff "turned off" on preferences but honestly, I'm still a little uncomfortable with posting stuff for the world to see. Of course I do it here everyday though . But I figure, who would want to come and read all this stuff if they weren't interested in lap bands? We're fun, but not that exciting.

Gee, some of the bandsters with blogs probably feel like I'm stalking them. I have subscribed to their blogs because I'm interested in what others are doing, talking about, their success, etc. I hope I didn't scare anyone  since they don't "know" me.

PJTP:

Okay, the surgery date looms. I have a list of stuff I want to take to the hosp with me and a list of stuff I'll need/want at home. I think I have all the basics: Gas-X, popsicles, Protein Powder, broth, Chapstick, etc. Any suggestions for stuff that I'm forgetting?? Any words of wisdom? I think I'm pretty prepared but....you've all BEEN there. Thanks!!

I had a heating pad that I kept on my back to aid with the gas pain in the shoulder. I will be honest and say that over the counter gas medicine didn't help me. Only walking and the heating pad helped me with the gas. I would just walk my hallway. Other people swear by the gas-x so use it. I guess we are all different on that one. I made sure that I had a prescription for nausea medicine. I have trouble with nausea after surgery, so if you do, make sure you have something available to take since vomiting while healing could rip sutures holding your band. Let's see....I think you have the other parts covered. You are going to do so well!

PJTP...Hi!

Interview went great - talked to the doc who is the program director for the department I want to work for. Asked me a lot about my previous residency program experience, how I liked working with the docs, a little about different personalities and how I handle them...I think it went well.

He's a really nice guy (cutie pie too) and has been at the company since he was a med student - lots of history there. Seems really good to work for - I hope I hear good news soon. My contact is out of the office the rest of the week, so I'll check in with her on Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Life in my soon-to-be-old-office is just too weird. We had a staff meeting today - they were talking about holding an event in a particular museum on campus. I've been a part of an event held in that area, so I chimed in with me experience. It was as if I hadn't said a word...they did shut up long enough for me to finish talking, but after that - no mention of what I had said, no request for contact people, nothing. Oh well - if they want to re-invent the wheel, I'm happy to let 'em.

TPG - make sure you have loose clothing to wear after surgery, and if you haven't already gotten them, a couple underwire-free bras. I normally wear underwires, but I cannot after surgery - they irritate my surgery sites. Slip-on shoes - you may not want to bend over right away; A & D ointment or something for itching...my scars itched and I didn't want to scratch them...I tend to develop keloids; Measuring cups and spoons so you know exactly what your intake is...especially fluids - they are important; liquid or chewable medicines (vitamins, pain relievers, etc); I can't seem to think of anything else right now...

I'm eating dinner (pork-n-beans) and waiting for my 9 pm class to start...I'm all done with my homework, so I feel pretty good. I probably won't be back after class - gonna go straight to bed.

G'Night everyone - hope you sleep well!

Ebony-I am glad that things went well with the interview. I think those butt holes that you work with now are...well, butt holes (I know, I am so mature for my age...not). I think your talents can be used so much better some where else. I hope this interview is the one that gets you the new job.

Well, the directions on the antibiotic said to take on an empty stomach (I should have known much better than this). It was awful.

Guh! I HATE meds that have to be taken on an empty stomach

Just finished lunch - trying to listen more to my body and eat only until "full"

This (IMO) is the ultimate band "secret". Learning the difference between "sated" and "full" is the holy grail.

Exactly WTH is wrong with some people???

I worked a retail job while I was in respiratory school. There is nothing, NOTHING (IMO...again) like a job in the medical field that will make you hate people. Don't get me wrong, I still love the work. It's just that medical folk often see people at their absolute worst.

As for myself, well I'm just continuing my fight. I REFUSE TO just give up with my weight battles. I have been really sticking to my plan and have been bumping up my workout routines to when I first started.

That's the Irene I know! Kick ass!!

BTW, how do you all feel about putting personal info on the net?

I'm pretty comfortable, but everybody is different. There's no "cookie cutter" appraoch.

I will be honest and say that over the counter gas medicine didn't help me. Only walking and the heating pad helped me with the gas. I would just walk my hallway. Other people swear by the gas-x so use it.

Yeah, I never saw the logic of using anti-gas meds with the lapband. Gas-X is basically a "detergent" that breaks down the surface area of a gas bubble (think rubbing alcohol on a soap bubble) in the digestive track, so the individual can...well...fart it out. The gas from the lapband surgery is inside the abdominal cavity, but outside the digestive system. But hey, if some folks find relief with the gas-x, more power to them!

Ask your doctor if you are going to get an abdominal binder - it made SUCH a difference in the level of pain for me, especially when getting up from bed or the couch.

I apologize if I grossed anyone out with my post this morning - I was just very mad and frustrated.

Golf tournament was fun - we had a good group of nurses who got to work it together - eating through the day was hard and dinner, although good was not healthy and drinks were too strong for me to even enjoy on no sleep. But home now and sadly with my 10th wind of the day - will now attempt to stay up for a couple hours to try and make it through most of the night asleep.

Everybody - Have an amazing day tomorrow!!!!

Hey, just because you live an affluent life of luxury doesn't mean you have to rub it in. I'm now crawling back in my cardboard box.

Okay y'all, my blog is under construction. If anyone is interested, I'll PM the link. It's actually quite boring  even to me! But at least I started it...

TPG

P.S. I have no one to play with tonight - except Plain...and he scares me...and excites me...in a strange kinky kinda way :D. Ooops, did I just type that?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
