Glou, the powers that be--as in Alex and his crew can follow the IP address, and is one of the ways they know if you have multiple names. The info and the IP do not match up for the "pinks". I too ask the question in a mod room!!! Susan told me no it is not the same person.

Sopapillas, are like Lu said, they are made with dough, then deep fried, and they puff up, turn into pillows. The most common way to eat them is with honey following a meal. There is a reason for that! The honey is supposed to take the burn out of the chili as it passes the next day!!! LOL Seriously!!! Another very common way to eat sopapillas, is to stuff them with meat and Beans, along with chile, onions, cheese, tomatoes, and topped with sour cream or guacamole. They ARE bread, so eating them is a slow thing for me, but I manage!!!

I took the food over there, met my MIL and the table looked like a carb feast! Mac & cheese, and tons of different kinds of potatoes, and a couple of rice dishes. Some of it made my mouth Water, but I did not eat a bite! Not because I was behaving---we were headed to dinner! LOL. I managed a chicken taco, and it was not an easy task. I was having eating issues last night which is really unusual for me. It stayed down just fine, it was just kind of painful going down, even tho I chewed well. Probably the flour tortilla it was in---they are hard for me. Then I dealt with some reflux last night. So gonna do an easy food day, drink lots, and give it a rest.

We are going to be slammed at work, and I hate that, it means I get drug to the front office to help. NOT my favorite place! Makes the day fly by tho. I am supposed to get off at 2---I look at getting off somewhere between 3 & 4.......there is just no way to get it all done with as many patients as we have going through. Oh well. Weekend is upon us....YAY!!

Rick brought me home tickets to an outdoor theater production of "Annie Get Your Gun", for this weekend, so I am looking forward to that. It is done in a natural sandstone ampitheater. They do 2 different productions each summer. The local Lions club rents cushioned chair things to sit on, as the natural seating, is carved out of stone. If you have ever been the the Redrocks outside of Denver, this is very similar, only in sandstone. Very cool place. The last couple of years, they have branched out, it used to only be Native American historical type plays----like the Anasazi story, etc.

DH does most of our work here at the house. But the last few times we have had workers, they did not look like that. One was a very short hispanic man--like 5'2" who thought he was hot! He had permed hair down his back, and wore tight clothes---and was so drunk he fell off his scaffolding twice! In the end, he did REALLY good work, when he showed up sober!

Then we had a shop built. But it was built by a local Menonite church group. They are along the lines of the Quakers, or the Amish people, bearded, long sleeves, certain style dress. But hey they had a great price for a great shop----so it worked! I was not tempted to look! They did NOT like dealing with me tho, kept asking if my Man was home! Made me mad!

Time to go to work. Will see y'all this evening.

Now THAT'S a way to have a happy day - seeing those bodies around the house! Of course KC we know you aren't plotting reasons for them to return to your house such as...needing an addition built on the house, or changing the paint colors annually, or needing the interior of the house painted or...

Shoot, I'd be ripping my own plumbing out from the ground up to get those guys to come over! :crying:

It is absolutely for medical observation - and heaven forbid one of them were to stop breathing - I would be on duty!!!

HAHAHA, too funny! As I was reading this in its original form, the sentence was broken up between "on" and "duty" -- "I would be on..." And I'm thinking you were gonna say "that like a duck on a junebug," or, "[on] that like white on rice." :crying::lol::frown:

Beth - full-time school as an adult. When I returned to university as an adult (an old one compared to the other students), it was fun! Unlike youngsters who really are more about the social life, I focussed on doing all the readings as given at each lecture, starting papers the day they were assigned, etc, and found it a good experience. At the time I had left a full-time good paying job to do this so I certainly missed an income particularly as I was still paying rent, etc. but I didn't find it as challenging as I had anticipated once I got back into the mindset. That adjustment took a while, but after that...it was good.

I'm guessing it's just the unknown. But as I read this, I'm thinking to myself how I worked a full-time job, took two VERY HEAVY writing classes (English 302 and BIS 300) where anywhere from 10-20 pages was due each week, and I not only succeeded, I made the dean's list with a 3.85. So... maybe it was my inner voice trying to assure me that, though it will be a heavy load, I will be able to do it.

Congrats on doing it yourself! The nice thing about the university I'm attending is that when I was there in January '08, I was by far the oldest student in my class. In college, they're ALL 18-20 years old and annoying as hell. At university, it's a mix. And I think especially when you take night classes, it's almost exclusively adults.

*beth, plain is right (damit) - hill country is about one of the best parts of TX, DH and i plan on heading back down in a few wks...would love to live there!

I DO love the Hill Country. I knew I was screwed when I said I didn't miss Texas. In reality, I don't miss Houston. I know Texas has a little bit of everything there and has some really fantastic places. I can't take the insane heat, the humidity (Houston probably more than many other areas), and flatness (again, Houston probably more than many other areas). The cost of living is great, but the job pay is not, so it all evens out.

Then again, if anything happened here (marriage, whatever), I have nothing to really keep me here except that I love it.

Okay, this shows my "dummy" but, how do ya'll know when people change names?

I changed my user ID maybe a year or so ago because someone logged on just to attack me. (crazy bf's ex-wife....jealous co-worker? who knows - I never found out.)

I also know LaurenD changed her name to something else and it's obvious to me because I see the old posts under the new name.

But how do you know when someone creates a whole new ID and is pretending to be someone else?

To be honest, too - I don't really pay attention to the icons/names that much. I read the content and respond to that. There are some folks I don't like so much (pg) but I don't want that to change my response or opinion of what's being posted.

If I see a great post from someone I don't like, I still want to be true to what my response would/should be.

Well, the only way I figured out ONE person who changed was her icon/photo.

There was that Donna person who was in one (or both) of the PnkPottymouth threads that you and I were reading/responding in, and I see that she (Donna) is now "FailureIsNotAnOption" or some such thing. Granted, she has about the same number of posts as I remember her Donna moniker having, so I don't know if she has a second moniker or simply changed the name of her first one.

I noticed she changed it because I remember the picture of her, which is her icon.

Hey now!!! :crying: lol

Actually, the cost of living is a scam. In NoVa, I was making the same pay and paying the same mortgage. I had state tax, which I don't have here, but here I have tons of other little taxes which make up for it!

For me, it's the same.

Only, in Houston I can ride a bike. In Manassas, I barely got out my door before I was heaving and huffing. I like the flat! :frown:

But, I've told DH if we both get fired, we're moving to San Antonio.

I like my LIFE in Houston, but the city is bleh.

i live in a bubble here in internet world - i so don't catch onto to those things:blush:

my cost of living is SIGNIFICANT compared to NYC.

* no state tax

* worked (DH still does) for a CA incorporated company. salaries are the same no matter where you live.

* homes, you definitely get more in TX for your buck

when i lived in old town alexandria for a bit, i hated it - unlike NY, i needed a car and the traffic was just insane - home prices rediculous.

:crying::wub: TX:)

G4E, I see it says that you are viewing this thread right now. I hope that it is just that you left your computer on and on this thread and NOT that you still haven't fallen asleep.

Nope I was awake. had been up since 1:45.( I had went to bed near 12:00) But I drank some hot tea and took a benedryl and went to bed shortly after. About 5. Slept till 6:30 looked at the clock and thought I am NOT getting up! So I dozed on and off till I gave up at about 8:30.

It is absolutely for medical observation - and heaven forbid one of them were to stop breathing - I would be on duty!!!

That is so good of you. Always looking at....ooopps I mean out for them.

As far as planning future jobs - you better believe I am. INterestingly enough I am planning on ripping out the carpet in my upstairs and redoing the hardwoods. It just so happens that the younger brother specializes in floor work.

Isn't that just amazing luck?! :frown:

Interesting, very interesting ( saying it in my best Laugh- In voice) (the one doing the german voice)

Bat/pterodactyl wings...I think they are why I can swim so good - the flap pushes much more Water back propelling me further with less effort. Well, that and the natural floaters permanently affixed to my front.:crying:

:):lol::lol::lol:

But couldn't they be using a different computer and false info?

Probably the flour tortilla it was in---they are hard for me. Then I dealt with some reflux last night. So gonna do an easy food day, drink lots, and give it a rest.

I don't do well at all with tortillas. Worse pbs I have ever had. tried 2x. Enough for me! Good Idea to take it easy today.

Sounds like fun Kat. I would enjoy that.

I grew up surrounded by Amish. They do great work. No it is their belief to deal with anything like that with the men, not women. Women have their roles and men have theirs. Everytime I go up home I have to get fresh cheese and Trail bologna. I miss Trail Bologna!

Time to go to work. Will see y'all this evening.

have a good day at work.

Everybody have a good day at work. have a great weekend.

When did you live in Old Town?

I love Old Town - lived right up the road for a while.

The door that I stole last month was from my grandparents house - they lived up near where Duke Street turned into Little River Tnpke. So, in high school, Old Town was our place.

My first kiss was on a park bench in Founders Park. :frown: LOL I woulda stolen the bench, too, while I was in VA - but figured that would be too much.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
