PJTP...

Had a good lap band support group meeting in New Haven last night - all girls, lots of questions from noobs, three vets there to help answer everything, and all is right with the world. Lots of compliments on my weight loss so far - and I'm looking forward to clothes shopping this weekend! Just a little though - college bills coming!

I'm one class away from getting my Associates degree and planning to continue - should have done it YEARS ago, but kids and then work interrupted me...yep, it's late, but I'm going to finish! Goal is to have my Bachelor's before I turn 50 (I've got a little over 3 years)...

Got some really good answers to questions about plastic surgery and prepping for it (yep, I'm thinking long term). Dr. Schulman's thread is wonderful - he has a lot of wisdom and is sharing it freely. I see a trip to New York to get him to do my surgery when I get there.

Long range goal is to reach my goal weight by Christmas (yep, ambitious, but that's me) and then stabilize by summer so I can have the surgery next summer (6 months at goal before I do the surgery).

Happy to be going to Arkansas at the end of the month for the annual Black Pilots Association get-together / fly-in called Skyhook. Lots of good people - good food too, but since I'm banded now, I won't have to worry about overeating! YAY! I can have a taste of this and a taste of that and not worry, because "Jillian" will keep me on track!

Babygrl - congrats on the scale moving in the right direction! Yay for you!

Plain applying anything to any part of his body - nightmare inducing! (just kidding, Plain) :grouphug:

Tapshoes - yep, unmatched greed (along with a few other terms not nearly so nice) come to mind...why oh why do they feel the need to put the ENTIRE burden on out-of-state students? A moderate difference between in-state and out-of-state I can understand, even a moderate tuition increase I can understand, but damn!

G4E - prayers for your family...I HATE tornadoes...they scare me no end. Living in Michigan, we didn't see many, but heard a lot about the bad ones in "Tornado Alley" in the midwest and the heartland of the country. Always sending up prayers for those who live in the path of danger, and the emergency responders who risk everything to go and help.

Slim - I agree with answering the phone "Hell - NO!" when MIL calls...she's a real piece of sh*t, I mean a piece of work

If I missed anybody (or any subject), sorry 'bout that!

Note to self: do not travel to Houston or Dallas in the summer or September

Well, summer (in Houston, anyway) seems to start about March and ends sometime in November, so...

Kinda how like Michigan's winters start in August and end sometime in June, right Babygurl?

Good morning all. Things have calmed way down here for a day or two. Supposed to get more storms Friday into Saturday. We have already gotten almost our yrs worth of rain.

I have been sick since late Tuesday night. yesterday every bone in my body ached and I had sweats and chills. I woke up feeling good until I tried to eat. Then I upchucked. So I can't really eat. Drinking is o.k. though. Now I am aching again. No it is not the swine flu. I have no fever. So strange. I took a nap yesterday. I never nap unless I am sick. I am sitting here with a blanket wrapped around me. If I am not better tomorrow I will go get checked out.

Heartfire,- Thanks every one is fine. You stay safe with the fires out there.

EbonyRose,- Good luck with getting all the tuition together. Way to go on finishing your degree.!

Fanny,- it is better you find out now than later down the road when you might have big trouble. Praying it sells soon.

Sick,- breath in, breath out, Ignor your MIL. She not only thinks you should help her, but does it on purpose to get inder your skin. (IMHO) My ex MIL used to do things like that.

Good luck Glo.

Plain- as usual you give a very disturbing visual.

babygirl,- way to go on the ticker!!Whoot

Tap- I'm glad your body temp has stablized, I wish mine would. I always hated summer, mainly anything abouv 78-80.

I was always to hot. Now I wonder how I will be this summer. I no longer freeze anyone out. You may not want to visit Alabama in Aug. or Sept. They are our hottest months. I also have an extra dryer hose.

just in case anyone is wondering - you can get stuck on coffee while reading PTJP thread....oh my.

congrats babygirl!!!!

Lu -I had to show your quote. I can't imagine getting stuck on coffee. But the last part is the biggie

your so baaaad!

I think I covered everything.

Must be something in the air, Kat - I'm feelin' the same way! I wish I had a motorcycle to ride, but my first choice is ALWAYS my DH for a good ride!:blush::unsure:

*stamping foot* I WANT A MOTORCYCLE!

Unfortunately, with DD going off to college in the fall, and the recent hit to my pocketbook, it will probably have to wait, but...

What I REALLY want is a Terminator-edition Harley FatBoy...*sigh*

Omg, hon, DO IT!!! I'm in school now too. I take one more class this summer to be done with all my basics/gen-eds (essentially what would be needed for an Associates), and in the fall I will go back to George Mason for my Bachelor's. I started out there in January of last year and then in the summer moved over to the community college to get my basics done and out of the way for a lot less money.

I'm contemplating asking DH if, by the time fall sessions start, if I don't have a job, should/could I just give up on work and go to school full time to get done. Doing two classes a semester while working full time is a bit difficult, especially since I won't be able to do any more online classes, campus is 30 miles away, and on average I was getting home about 11:00 pm on a work night and working all through my weekends on homework. Hubby and friends could not grasp why I couldn't go out riding motorcycles and having fun with them when I had on average 10- to 20-page papers due each week between the two classes. :grouphug:

Granted, August is a long way off, but I dunno... I'd almost rather get it done and over with. Then I could hit the workplace with a degree (if that's even worth anything these days -- a friend said a Bachelor's is pretty much akin to having a high school diploma these days...).

But for me, it's as much about knowing I DID IT. I will be the first in my family that I know of with a college degree. My SIL just got her Bachelor's, and most of it was done online and took her seven years. I've already been at this off and on for waaaay too long. I'm ready to be done.

Oh HEEEEELLLLLLLLLL NO!

Omg, I'm giggling out loud over here!

I couldn't help but laugh myself.

What a way to spend the weekend!

You got it right the first time.

Ebony - OUCH on the tuition hike!! Why does the term 'unmatched greed' come to mind?

I have to agree, they are trying to rip parents off.

Needy, manipulative, whiny, spoiled, self-centered...your MIL is certainly a piece of work.

Ummm - dare I say that I have extra dryer vent hose, and that I keep it because you never know when you may need it? I promise not to send her your way.

Like Macbeth, will anything ever wash that image from my mind???? What she said.

Omg, hon, DO IT!!!

Thanks for the encouragement, Beth - I'm gonna!

Hubby and friends could not grasp why I couldn't go out riding motorcycles and having fun with them when I had on average 10- to 20-page papers due each week between the two classes.

I'm doing mine online via Kaplan - with my commute, I don't think I could do it any other way...plus, I get really sleepy when sitting in a classroom, but because I'm such a computer-head, online classes suit me perfectly!

Granted, August is a long way off, but I dunno... I'd almost rather get it done and over with. Then I could hit the workplace with a degree (if that's even worth anything these days -- a friend said a Bachelor's is pretty much akin to having a high school diploma these days... :grouphug:).

I hear ya on that one...but like you, I want to have my degree should I have to switch jobs again...

But for me, it's as much about knowing I DID IT. I will be the first in my family that I know of with a college degree. My SIL just got her Bachelor's, and most of it was done online and took her seven years. I've already been at this off and on for waaaay too long. I'm ready to be done.

Seven years...that is persistence personified! Congrats to your SIL - I'm definately not gonna quit now. I have to set the example for my DD - and I'll be the first one in my family with a Bachelor's degree as well...

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
