I have the heel pads in a pair of shoes that NEVER get worn outside of the house. They do work quite well.

OK Slim - splain that to me! How do you know that they work if they never leave the house? :tt1::eek::w00t:

Mac, I could have written this post about my husband and I! Sometimes he says that he feels like he has gained the 100 pounds I've lost. I don't push him at all. I KNOW how that feels. A person has to be ready to make the changes by themselves and for themselves. He's been making comments lately that he wants to start exercising and losing weight and its only when he mentions it that I engage in a conversation about it with him.

And all of that aside, I love and am attracted to my husband as much (if not more!) that I did when we first met irrespective of how much he weighs now or how much hair he has lost since then :w00t:

What a good wife!

Wow.

What a profound and spectacular speech by our new President Barack Obama.

Congratulations to all of us who seen in him hope and strength, but most important the intelligence this man has. How refreshing.

The fact he is other than white is of no relevance to me personally.

True, this is not a political only thread, however this is an anything thread. Political is something, so I'm going there.

Welcome to your Re-birth AMERICA!!

I did not vote for Obama. However, even though I might have some policy disagreements, I will support our leader. To do anything else would be, IMO, un-patriotic.

PJTP-I know that there are more important things to talk about right now, but I AM NO LONGER MORBIDLY OBESE! I know I am only barely out of it, but it is so nice to see a 3 instead of a 4. Now if I can just get below 200.

Kicking ass!

I know this is completely random but I HAVE BICEPS FOR THE FIRST TIME. Just sayin'

Hello! That's no small victory!!

The family and friends are the ones that put them up to it.

quarks (similar to crocks but much lighter weight) are my shoes of choice. I live in them (even now in the winter).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
