If I had an overnight low of 48 degrees I might just spend the night outdoors in shorts and a t shirt. Our high today is supposed to be 7.

I can relate. Too cold to snow today - high is supposed to be minus 4.

i broke out my ski gear this AM, 26 degrees - freeze protect went on for the pool & it's suppose to be this way for a few days. i've been in TX 15yrs, and have gotten use to the mild 50 degree winters.

lots of coffee to warm up - because i have ice again on my truck..but can't wait for the sun to melt it like i did the other day &&& of course we have no ice scrapper:scared2::thumbup:

Temp gauge on SUV this morning read -30 @ 0400. That is not WC, it is air temp. Why do people live up here? And there are people who live farther north than I.

PJTP~tomorrow is my annual "ice fishing" trip with the guys. As you can tell by the quotation marks, not much fishing takes place. We rent a cabin on the lake shore and an ice house on the lake about 4 miles south of a casino. Friday night is buffet (not really worth it for me anymore but it is tradition) followed by blackjack at the casino. Then, back to the cabin for cards and "beverages" until about 0500 Saturday morning. sleep for about 4 hrs and then back at it. Some will actually go on the ice for about 4-5 hrs. Then, Saturday night is a "gentlemens" establishment for some "entertainment". Been looking forward to this for, ohhhh, about 11 mos.

Just read a local news story, and my blood is boiling (may keep me warm, but not in a good way) .... Remember, I live where it is freakin' cold: a person who does not have a remote starter for his car, went outside and started his car leaving it running with the keys in, did not lock his car doors, went inside the house. 10 min later he goes out, his car is gone. Car is eventually found, and charges laid etc EXCEPT that the police also charge the car owner for having left the car running with the keys in it. Now, I am NOT upset with the police (they enforce, not create the laws), and it makes sense that the insurance company might be hesitant to pay out on any claim etc BUT why oh why would there even be such a law? My house, my property, my car....why can't I leave it running with keys in, windows and doors open if I want? The person (in my pea-brain) who is guilty of anything is the one who STOLE the car.

Personal responsibility....a quaint concept that is dying a slow 'some-one-else-is-to-blame' death...

OK Rant over; you may now resume hairy-arsed (or leg) discussions....

My concern with this comment is that you inserted and emphasized "Everywhere"

I agree with you Tap.. The man shouldn't have been cited. Was the car in his driveway or was it parked on the street? But also you have to assume that it's possible this law is in affect for public areas where it could be a safety issue such as a small child getting in and taking it out of gear.

I am not saying it's right but I do know where a child got in a running truck took it out of gear and it ran over a 1 year old and killed her. The parents were loading the truck with skiing gear while the truck was warming up.

I stand by my quote.

As for the car running with keys in it, that is to take away the temptation to steal from others with less self control.

Tap - Bless You is a good thing and not considered an insult anywhere as far as I know.

I can only assume Texas is not considered Southern because Texans don't consider themselves Southern regardless of actual geography. I've only been in Texas for 8 years now so I'm probably not the best authority on why Texans aren't Southerners.

Car was in his driveway. But sure, come up with a good reason...now I feel like a meanie!!!!

Don't agree with this one...legislation should be to protect us (law abiding, responsible) from those who are doing wrong, not to penalize us because others are not.

I guess we can agree to disagree...I just remembered this isn't in R&R anymore, so i guess I mis-posted....

Now back to discussing Ceradad's body.....

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
