DH has offered to get me a cleaning person again.

i agree those people are SLOBS on clean sweep, i would just like to find a pair of scissors when i need them:wink:

I let my cleaning service go b/c they weren't doing the job I thought I was paying for. I need to look on Kudzu for some more.

re: scissors - picky picky picky!!! :tt2: Just buy a pair for every room - I can always find scissors!

Why do I keep trying potatoes when they kill my stomach? Ugh

You know, they say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. I'm just saying...:tt2:

Good evening everyone! I am extremely organized at work, and the complete opposite at home. But I don't think I will ever be as bad as those people on clean sweep.

Well, its 7:30 and the sweet 16 party is in full swing. I am hiding in my room, dh is at a race. The dogs don't know what to think. Music is playing loud, strobe light is strobing, balloons can be heard popping and kids sound like they are having a blast. As for me, well, it dawned on me that I spent close to 4 hours cleaning today so a bunch of teenagers could trash the house tonight. What was I thinking??? Oh well, I was informed by several of the kids tonight that I am the "cool mom" and they were very excited about the party, so I guess in the end it is all worth it.

You are a strong woman to have a house full of teenagers partying. Can my son have his birthday party at your house too? How did your daughter's driving test go?

Ha ha, I am not sure if I am a strong woman or just plain crazy! Sure, I will do a party for your son!

The driver's test is a bad subject. I went online and checked to make sure they would be open. It stated very clearly they would be closed December 25th and 26th, and January 1st in observance of the holidays. It did not say anything about being closed on January 2nd. So, we drove the 30 minutes down there and guess what, they were closed. I was not happy. So, I guess we will revisit them some time next week.

That is awful. I know your daughter was disappointed.:tt2:

I won't mention the party to my son since he has been bugging me for 3 years to go back to Florida. He keeps asking is this going to be the year we go back. ha ha

Susan - Yeah for being the 'cool mom'; sorry about the driving test.

Clean sweep - oh dear gawd; those people are PIGS!

Until recently I was labelled a 'neat freak' and a 'clean machine'...really, I can't stand a mess. DH still thinks I am, but I see how I have lowered my standards. I don't wash the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher anymore (yes, wash with soap), and I can leave a load of laundry in the basket until it cools....those are MAJOR for me! Doesn't everybody wash the walls in their house, clean their vacuum and wash their brooms 2X a year??

Felix Unger - ha!!

Yes I am a nerd. I'm watching the History Channel which I never ever do. They have a series about the 7 deadly sins. The show on greed was very interesting considering the times we are living in. The greed of a few killed our economy just as it did before the Great Depression. Very interesting for my wee brain.

Tap - Why does one even need to wash one's walls? I have no concept of that!!! I'm not being facetious; I truly want to know. Does it not mess up the paint?

Your dad is Felix Unger, and my mom could be a "to be continued" episode of clean sweep, clean house, or how clean is your house. I kid you not. I honestly think my mom is a hoarder. She won't let go of anything. Instead of sorting and washing, she goes and buys new. It can be very scary at times because I always wonder if that is going to be me at her age.

Wow, Slim, that is scary. I definitely got my mother's cluttery ways but luckily we both get fed up and have definite purge fests. I don't wear brand new things w/o washing them first b/c my family has issues about how fabrics feel!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
