leverage...love the show

Isn't it good? For those that haven't watched, I stumbled upon a rerun of the season opener. The basic premise is that a band of 4 thieves and Timothy Hutton make this huge score and are set for life. They like working together so they con/rip off "bad guys" to kind of right the wrongs. I guess it's a modern version of Robin Hood. Not sure which channel it's on but it's on a cable station like TNT or USA.

I've never used or seen one before, but I was told that you put a salt Water solution into this Nettie pot and some how pour it into your nose. It is supposed to clear the nasal passages. I had been told to get one because I have sinus issues. Just the thought of pouring any liquid up my nose ...**shudders**

my nose doc gave me a rubber bulb that i use to wash out my nose and sinuses. i use warm water, salt and baking soda. after i had a uppp and then another sinus surgery i had to wash the blood out of my nose daily this way. he told me to do this any time my sinuses get congested also. you just fill the bulb with the solution, lean over the sink and squeeze. then tilt your head to the side for a moment then turn back. great for washing out the snot, and shortens the infection.

after you might want to touch your toes to allow the water to drain back out.

If I could touch my toes, I wouldn't have needed a lap-band. ;)

Not necessarily. I can touch my toes and have been able to even when quite fat. I'm just flexible that way, I guess.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
