SUSAN

It was -26 here last night and you are complaining about 30?? If I didn't love you I so would be kicking your ass right now!

Because it's so cold here in Houston - only 38 degrees and there was a possibility of precipitation, I opted to work at home in my warm PJs today. Yes, you may throw virtual snowballs at me. He he

Consider yourself thoroughly pummeled by snowballs!

Times have changed... When I had my 15 year old and 8 year old, the OB said it was OK to have an occasional glass of red wine. Guess better safe than sorry--so, I drank a whole bottle this weekend in your honor. he he

thanks ... i dont like red wine though... i like my wine cold so i drink what my family calls the 'non-wine' ... usually white zin.

The only white I like are the sweet ones from Germany--they're like dessert in a glass.

PJTP that I'm jealous of those who can indulge in an occasional glass of wine...

As a type II diabetic, my medication prevents me from EVER indulging. Even when I could, I was not a big wine drinker, but knowing I can't EVER have a glass of anything alcoholic is occasionally a super-bummer. Especially during the holidays when everyone seems to have a glass in their hands.

I can do sparkling cider, but only in moderation because the sugar content is so high...

*deep sad sigh* Somebody have a glass of something for me, please...but not too much - I don't want ya to get into any trouble! :scared2:

No one ever misses me when I'm gone for a while *cries* :)

Come on over to Oz, its a comfortable 85 here tonight! I love a warm Christmas, makes the wine taste better with the massive fresh shrimp and lobster we have on Xmas day

Yep, my DH converted me a little while ago. My IE used to crash ALL THE TIME. Firefox has never skipped a beat for me.

Of course we miss you, She!!!

Shrimp sounds delish!

Forefox rocks muchly!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
