Technically, Houston never gets a frost, EVER and we're always in shock when we get one. The snow last week completely looped us--in a good way though.

I have often say that the people in charge of that type of packaging should be in charge of homeland security!

Uuugggghhh!! Toys are the worst! Not only do they tape it in, they also put these little twist ties every inch or so and then they tape those down in the back.

I was just going to mention those plastic ties!! They are the devil!! Action figures (uh, because we don't technically buy "dolls" at my house) have about 10 of those things....Toy vehicles have about 30, threaded throughout the toy in an intricate pattern. Those things SUCK.

Went to company Christmas party last night (employees only/no SOs cause the biatch who plans the party can't get an SO).

Anyway, I stayed 5 minutes too long -- a girl dragged my a$$ out on the dance floor and my only options were 1) run away from the dance floor or 2) go with it. I went with it (it was to "Looking for some hot stuff baby tonight"). I was a bit embarrassed and stiff at first but then really enjoyed it. I haven't danced in public in a while and I used to dance all the time.

Ok, Donna, 2 thoughts here:

Who plans a work party without SO's? Isn't that called work? Also, if ya wants to shake that ass effectively, then ya gots to have better ass-shakin' music than "hot stuff", LOL

Oh, and I HATE drivers during the winter. I've said it before I know, but I swear people get dumber each year when it comes to driving in snow. How hard is it to simply slow down a little and keep moving?:huh2::cursing::cursing::cursing::frown:

Man, think about here in Texas, where we don't regularly get ice & snow!! When the roads do slick up, people drive like absolute idiots....I've heard more people say "I've got 4 wheel drive so I can get around".....then they go 80 mph. How's that 4 wheel drive gonna stop your car on ice, idiot?

I do NOT understand how some folks are just chosen to be the golden children. There's a guy in my old department that just keeps getting promotions and I do not get it! He's dumber'n a box of hair!!!

All I can say is that I can empathize.

Confession: I am the golden haired child of my department. Y'all should really try it sometime, heehee....

PS- I dance just like "Farmer Ted" from 16 Candles. I'm just cool like that.

Ok, technically, I am the only employee in my dept. But I was referring to the "umbrella" dept that is over mine (and others). My GHC status is the only reason I get internet @ work. Nobody else does.....Of course, my whole hospital might shut down soon, but that's a whole 'nother issue.

AHHH, now I know why "those people" looked familiar!!

I love RuPaul. And I gotta say, he makes a MUCH prettier woman than Michelle. *shudder* That hag is SCARY fugly!!

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

      Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

        Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
