hubby just dragged her out of bed.

i had to put down my 15yr old poodle (sal) down yesterday morning - and just finished all the crying i had left. have 4 labs wandering around looking for their buddy. it's WAY quiet - everyone is tip toeing around.....even hubby.

i think i deserve chocolate tonite!!

Sorry lulu, I just saw this. They become part of the family so quickly. The loss of one is hard to take.

My GSD will be 9 in April so I am starting to gear myself up for this eventuality.

PJTP-how can some of you be crying about how cold it is? It was 0 here yesterday. We only have about 3" of snow, but the cold is the worst.:biggrin:

Lulu, no offense, but your G-men have to lose 2 straight this week.:biggrin:

Snow, brrrrrrrrr, it is 57 here right now and I am absolutely freezing!!! I have my winter coat and wore gloves driving in to work this morning. I know, I am such a wimp. I guess it is all relevant to what you are used to though.

:biggrin::tongue2::scared2::tongue2:

ok - below 40 is freezing for me. i love snow; but when on ski's or for the 2 seconds it's on the ground in TX.

so you know your in TX when:

your neighbors (who live 67 acres away) kids are home from college and warn you they are dove hunting around the properties....want to borrow one of your bird dogs (lab) for the day.

not to offend those against hunting or guns - just i sometimes get checked back into reality that i am in TX....

I guess that is true about relevance. I was still wearing shorts when the temp was 57. I am freezing now, but it is 31 here today.

Yes, my husband is bald so I can agree with you. I on the other hand do not want to be bald. I have been eating and drinking lots of Protein. Taking Vitamins and Biotin, hopefully this will stop soon. :wink_smile:

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
