Donna, I would rather jog down hell's main highway barefoot than drive in Houston traffic again. If I ever have to go there for a professional seminar, I'm calling you for a ride!

Houston traffick can be daunting; either it's not moving fast enough or moving so fast out of towners turn green in the passenger seat. Not to mention all the lanes, on ramps, off ramps, etc. My 25 year old nephew from a small town in Arizona said he'd pass out before he could get behind the wheel in Houston. Like everything else, you get used to it.

I also made it through my jury duty. I am still on my case until maybe tomorrow. It took half the day just for the lawyers to finish interviewing the potential jurors. We made it up to juror #24 before they were satisfied with 12 of us. I started to wonder if we were on trial after all of the questions. They didn't start the trial until after lunch. Thankfully, the judge said he didn't believe in staying past 4pm.

What kind of case are you on?

It's so bad that it's almost as bad as "trafficking" LOL

I feel a bit of clarity is needed here: 1) when traveling anywhere in Houston metro area, you have to drive as fast as the traffick will allow else you'll cause an accident by causing road rage and people desperate to drive around you

This is true. And besides that, no matter how fast you go, Houston cops are whizzing by you as if you were standing still anyway. :cursing:

Houston sounds kind of like when we were living in Atlanta. Either you had to do 85 to keep from getting run over, or traffic was at a complete stand still. There was never any happy medium.

It must be something about these hot, steamy cities that cause it.

AMEN!!!!! Unfortunately not enough get out of the far left lane when those of us that wanna go 80 are behind them!!! The "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" signs mean get the hell outta the way!!!

Tonight was a standstill aka "parking lot" night. There were cops out so everybody had to look at the pretty blue cop lights like they'd never seen them before!!! :cursing:

Doesn't that drive you crazy? I hate when traffic is backed up for miles and when you finally get to see why, it is simply because a cop was on the side of the road or a broken down car or something that was completely out of the way. Dadburn rubberneckers!!!

What's even worse is when you can't see a reason at all! I'm feeling road rage right now just thinking about it! :cursing:

Right?!? (hee hee "drive" you crazy!?!) I went to TN for Thanksgiving and we literally stopped dead still to watch a burning car in a ditch. REALLY?!? OMG! I thought some people would put their cars in park and get out the marshmallows!!! :cursing:

The biggest driving headache where I am is the rain. When it rains, all the old drivers wanna slow things down to 30 MPH.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
