Of course they are bad... they are full of carbs, usually white carbs. :tongue2:

Mac, that was racist. I'd like an apology, plz.

ARGGHHHH!!! Is this national 'IQ=shoe size ask-a-question day' and no one told me??? If I answer one more STUPID question today, I am going to......burst a blood vessel! (*Tap types very firmly*)

OK....I'm better now.

Um, better stay away from the newb section on LBT, lol.

Now I just need my band...send good thoughts / prayers my way that I'll still get my band on the 17th!:smile2:

It'll happen for ya, Ebony!!

I am having an esophagram on fri to find out why I am

having these issues of vomiting in my sleep. I sure hope there is nothing wrong with my band.

Found out also that my dr. is doing sleeves now. I would probably still go to Dr. Aceves if I had it done if I do have to have my band removed. I can't even imagine what the hospital here would charge.

It's probably a good idea to switch up our diets from time to time. Have you noticed any weight loss since you've been refraining from meat consumption? Are you also eschewing fish as well? How are you getting in your Proteins and Iron?

i eat lots of nuts and veggies and im still drinking milk and having yogurt...

Beans are good for Proteins but i need to go to library and get some vegetarian cookbooks ..my menu is limited at this point.

it took about a week to notice any difference but now i feel lighter and im more regular must be all the fruit..im hoping to see some changes with the scale soon..

reason to give up meat

Are you also eschewing fish as well?

Duh. It's one of our first rules as a bandster. You have to eschew everything very well. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
