smiletracy 0 Posted October 31, 2007 Hello, I am very new to this. Just finished my siminar and scheduled for my consultation. I am very nervouse, and at the same time feel like I have found the answer after years of searching. I have lots of anxieties and this board and all of the great advise is helping. I think the biggist worry is "will I actually be able to change my habits?" I know that the band will help with hunger, but I do emotional eat and never exercise. I just want to make it work this time. I have failed soooooo many times with soooooo many different methods. I am sure all of you understand the defeating feeling in that. I have actually given up trying due to the depression that follows every time I fail. Anyway, I do have a question I was hoping someone could help me with. My husband travels for work and I am pretty much a single mom. I have a 4yr old (no problem there) but I also have a 10mo old son. By the time I actually get scheduled for surgery he will be walking, however I will still have to carry him often. He is 22lbs now and will be more then. Any one know when I can start lifting and carring him after surgery. Do I need someone available to carry him for awhile, or just the first few days? Thanks for the info, and good job to everyone. You guys truly inspire! Smiletracy, 275now............ BUT NOT FOR LONG :whoo:
mbanja 1 Posted October 31, 2007 Hi Smiletracy, I too have an infant and I got banded when she was 8mos. I had no problem lifting and carrying her even in her car seat right after the surgery. She is only about 20lbs, and was about 18lbs when I had it done, my port sight was a little "muscle" sore but that was about it.
