Mattymatt 491 Posted April 17, 2018 I have a grilled chicken salad just ready and waiting for dinner. I can't wait to take a bite of that one. Grilled chicken, leafy greens, and some match stick carrots. I had a 30 cal bag of Apple slices with 4 slices of cheese as a snack. Now I get to discover all of the good food that I used to pass up in favor of fast food. I still must be careful about portions but it feels like the worst of the surgery is over. 1 Kimbero reacted to this
aNYCdb 310 Posted April 17, 2018 I was never a fast food person, but I have to say that I'm eating a better quality of food now. When you are only eating a little it's much easier to justify buying the higher end produce and Proteins even when they aren't on sale. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this

Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted April 17, 2018 Wow, one month out and you're into REAL real food - very impressive! I'm so jealous!
SleeveinIL 386 Posted April 17, 2018 I am on the low residue option and I have to agree eating real food again is wonderful! I find myself eating a lot of fish these days. I have had some chicken but not chicken salad yet. Enjoy your rediscovered treats. Sleeved 3/16/2018

For some reason, my brain misread "grilled chicken salad" as "grilled cheese sandwich" and I was like, "That doesn't seem right..." and had to reread. I wonder if this is the post-op equivalent of seeing people turn into food when you're really hungry. Real food = awesome. I had half a wrap from Subway (minus most of the actual wrap) with turkey, bacon, cucumber, spinach, Tomato, and light mayo on a spinach wrap for supper last night and the other half for lunch today, and it was gloriously textural and flavorful. Definitely recommend for once you're able to handle more foods! 1 1 Orchids&Dragons and FluffyChix reacted to this
Francess 38 Posted April 21, 2018 (edited) I can’t have salad, raw veggies till 2 months out. But enjoying the food I can have...chicken, shrimp, meatballs, chili, chicken crust pizza, yogurt, eggs, cheese, and lunch meats. I also had 1/4 piece of thin sliced rye bread toasted and 2 crackers. Still not getting any fruits and hardly any veggies cause I’m trying to get Protein in and that pretty much fills me up. Today at a tea event, I had 1 Mrs. Thinster coconut cookie thin (serving is 5, but I had 1= 30cal. , 2 sugar, 2 fat, 3 carbs). Is this bad? Anyone else tried?
