KateBruin 344 Posted April 17, 2018 I'm in my 2nd day sleeve surgery with excruiating gas pains. I've been walking, nothing. How long will this take?So I had the sleeve in August and hernia repair almost 3 weeks ago. It took a solid 3-5 days for the gas to go then you get more gas from not pooping. Take Miralax twice a day! Last surgery both gasses took 8 days to go away.
GassyGurl 428 Posted April 17, 2018 Walk, walk, walk! Lying on my left side helped me, or laying over the edge of the bed. Mine came in waves, starting day 2, getting better through day 5. But the left side trick would help me pass it almost every time... Feel better soon! Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app

I remember how relieving it was when I finally began to fart. 2 debbie89 and Sharmeka reacted to this
FancyChristine15 810 Posted April 17, 2018 I just had my surgery last month, and let me tell you, the gas pains were the worst part of it. It took 3-4 days for it to go away. Just hang in there. Burp and fart as much as possible! 1 1 lawsorl and Jillianm17 reacted to this
J San 1,071 Posted April 18, 2018 Kind of glad I clicked on this topic. Made me laugh, but mainly gives me ideas of what to expect post-op. KateBruin do you mind if I ask, did you have the hernia before your procedure? What type was it and how did it affect you if at all? Reason I ask is because I have an umbilical hernia which was the reason I initially went to see the surgeon.

I had the hiccups every time I drank the first and second days, but, once I started pouring the water in, that helped. 2 lawsorl and laconnie7 reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted April 18, 2018 Sweetie That was a couple weeks ago, are you cleared for small pills yet? If so, there are several forms of GasEs pills, saw them at WalMaer yesterday.😝

I eat slowly but I’m going to try the pouring method lol and see if that helps thanks
