I'm just starting my 2 week liquid diet today. I've done these before just to lose weight. Only thing I can say is don't think about food. You don't need it. When you feel like you have to eat, have some Jello or a popsicle. Stay as active as possible. I'm a secretary and I tend to snack at my desk. So when I feel like eating, I'll get up and walk around. The first 3 days are the hardest. But there is a hump and you don't feel deprived after it. Just stay active! After you've made your family dinner, go for a walk or to the gym. No, you won't have much energy, but people around you will keep you going.

I'm on day 13 of 14 of my liquid diet. Surgery at 6:30 Monday morning. I've not had the hunger pain since day 9. Yes, I've been hungry. But not in pain from the hunger. How's everyone else doing?

I’m on day 6 of my liquid diet. Surgery is May 7. It’s pretty difficult in my opinion but I do know it will be worth it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
