Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted April 15, 2018 I feel like I'm eating more TUMS than Protein some days. (And the more protein I eat, the more antacids I need.) Yes, I am still on omeprozole, but unfortunately, the doctor wants me to take it at night with another medicine to protect my stomach. So, it's not there during the day when I'm eating. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I wake up almost every night with reflux. helps if you eat every 2-3 hours and don’t skip any meal, stop drinking coffee and tea. Try to identify what foods are causing this reflux and avoid them as much as you can. Good luck [emoji256][emoji1303] 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
lo.la 12 Posted April 17, 2018 Acid reflux is the worst! My dose of omeprozole is actually split up into 20mg in the morning and 20 at night. You might check with your doctor to see if they could prescribe it that way for you too. I would definitely tell them about your morning reflux if you haven’t and see if there’s something else they’d recommend. Hope that helps! 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
DaleCruse 756 Posted April 17, 2018 Interesting. I take Omeprazole in the morning & Tums at night. That works well for me. And I agree: Acid reflux is awful! You are not alone. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted April 17, 2018 Nope TUMS is not a basic food group, it is basically Calcium Carbonate and if you are a post sleever it is only going to do you minimal benefit, you no longer produce enough Hydrochloric Acid to digest it well, so end result, it helps the sewer system or septic tank more than it does you. If you still have that much GERD, talk to one of your doctors or consult a gastroenterologist, time for bigger guns than what you've been firing! My gastro put me on Dexilent, if I didn't have good insurance,it would cost me over $350 a month but it works where omeprazole didn't.😝 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
