Does tour Dr. require chewables? I just take the regular pills usually.

I might check back with my surgeons office. The Vitamins they recommended to me were bnmulti.com chewables (Aussie company)

calcium chews stall me every time I try to take them. They end up giving me something like 10-15 extra carbs for the day when I try to stay at or under 20g total. LOL. Just FYI.

IMHO, you're better off taking a Calcium cit capsule. Big, but easy to swallow and I've been swallowing capsules that size since the day of surgery.

There is also unflavored calcium citrate powder you can buy, then simply mix with Water and water drops if you prefer.

@Orchids and Dragons' me again. Remember Citracal and its, cousins are a Bari- babe' s buddy not TUMS or,Caltrate. TUMS and Caltrate are Calcium Carbonate, if you are post sleeve or on acid-reducing medicine like me and. Mr Dexilant, or even most post RnY we simply don't have enough HCl(hydrochloric acid) in our stomach secretions to assimilate the Calcium. Do you want to,enrich the septic tank, sew ar system or your own personal bones? Think I know which one we would choose. Your BariCalciums are usually citrate form, But if you're back to,pills you know which one to pick. Especially important with what me and ther went through.😝Hugs

Thanks, Frustr8, but I'm good. I take calcium citrate for the calcium. TUMS are just for when the acid jets are on high, so at that point in time I have plenty of acid to dissolve them :( My surgeon had ok'ed them. But since I've had so much trouble with acid, he agreed yesterday to let me go back on omeprazole twice a day (I was down to once and drowning in acid.) I'm scared to death of kidney stones, though. Hopefully, I won't need any more TUMS now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
