JustinH 41 Posted April 13, 2018 Can a little ketchup completely screw you up on the pre op diet? Just curious. I just made ground bison, with fresh garlic, a little beef stock, splash of Worcestershire sauce, and a little ketchup and mustard...It came out freakin fantastic.... just looking for opinions and tips to not screw up lol. Creekimp13 5,840 Posted April 13, 2018 (edited) ketchup does have sugar...and eliminating carbs is the way you shrink your liver. So it's really important not to eat carbs during the presurg diet. That said....if you're eating a very small amount of ketchup...say, under 25 calories worth...I think you'll probably be ok. But yeah....pre op diet...means very very very few (read almost no) carbs. allwet 868 Posted April 14, 2018 no one here has the same pre op diet. you will be shocked to read the differences. sorry to say you and your surgeon are the only ones that can answer that
Cloudburst 14 Posted April 14, 2018 If you are concerned about the sugar in ketchup they do make a sugar free ketchup which is not bad.
