Wow! My surgeon doesn't require 2 week liquid diet. I will have to do a 2 week liver shrink diet, but it's not nearly that strict (thank goodness)

Bone Broth sounds really good, I will have to give it a try.

So an update: Day 9 of only Clear Liquids (protein shakes, Water, Powerade zero, sugar free popsicles and jello)

I am taking all of my Vitamins and drinking at least 60g of Protein daily while consuming at least 64 oz of fluids a day.

I'm not sure if it's because of "that particular week" sorry, TMI, but I am feeling weak and dizzy.

I'm not even hungry so much. Sometimes I feel I could eat an entire tub of cottage cheese, mushrooms, olives, etc. (Note: I HATE ALL THAT STUFF) but I'd be willing to eat it.

But it's not so much the hunger like I said. It mostly comes and goes and is mostly head hunger whenever I see something pop up on screen. Okay, some of it is actual hunger.

But I have no clue why I am so dizzy and weak. If I am taking all my vitamins, protein, and water, why am I still so weak?

I would imagine that high Protein or not, consuming only liquids would have an impact on your energy level and how much stress your body can handle. I did used to get very weak during my shark week because I was anemic and that week just heightened that. Without intaking a lot of Iron right now you're probably feeling that as well.

I think that could definitely be it. My Iron runs really low so I might just take 1 more iron supplement while being careful not to overdose on it and damage my liver! I think that might definitely be the cause! Thank you!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
