Protein shakes making me sick

All plans are different, and some advance to the next stages more quickly, but if your doctor only has you on Clear Liquids right now, then no, you probably can't have Premier Protein (or any other) shakes at this point.

Your right all plans are different, with all due respect I was told Protein Shakes were part of a liquid diet. I started my shakes on day 4 post op.

To those who are replying to my comment about Protein shakes: the person I quote-replied to (who is not the OP) SPECIFICALLY said she’s is on Clear Liquids right now, not FULL liquids. Of course Protein Shakes are allowed in the liquid stage, but typically not in the CLEAR liquid stage, because the they are not CLEAR (protein Water =/= protein shake).

That's definitely correct with Protein Shakes. One person mentioned premier and that it's available in chocolate, banana etc it so that is not a clear liquid. That is why I mentioned Bodiez. My dietician told me about it as it dissolves without colour or taste in Water, broth etc and can be used at every stage. He also said it shouldnt make me sick. Fingers crossed.

Update: went to GNC and got some Isopure Zero Carb RTD’s. They’re expensive, but I can at least tolerate them since they’re more like flavored water than a milky shake. Hope that helps anyone else who’s struggling!

ISO pure is amazing you can also purchase it on bodybuilding. Com and Amazon great flavors the orange cream taste just like an orange dream popsicle. Plus they mix with anything, very good product if you like chocolate try fudge brownie flavor you won’t be disappointed.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
