TakingABreak 2,733 Posted April 12, 2018 I found these 10 bariatric recipes that look amazing! I've never used wonton wrappers before, but I'll be trying for the first time very soon! istytehcrawk 256 Posted April 13, 2018 I just bought wonton wrappers at the store like two hours ago because I keep seeing so many bariatric-friendly recipes using them. Tonight, though, I'm making crustless ham/pineapple pizzas with roasted broccoli/cauliflower/carrots. Both are in the oven right now. https://www.ellaclaireinspired.com/no-crust-pizza-bites/ 1 TakingABreak reacted to this

redhead_che 824 Posted April 14, 2018 Wonton wrappers are a regular in my fridge. Lasagna cups and taco cups rotate often in my meal line up! Love them! They don’t offer much nutritionally, but the “guts” you put it in should!
Ylime 453 Posted April 18, 2018 Interesting that you all found bariatric recipes using these. Just this morning I came across an article that said won ton wrappers are a no no because they are just like Pasta. All the conflicting info out there drives me nuts! How is anyone supposed to know what to eat?! ~Emily

How is anyone supposed to know what to eat?! ~Emily Here's the nutrition... I mean...not terrible. Not great either. Here's the thing, I have a program that I'm following but if there is something that is going to make my life a little better, more enjoyable... like a wonton wrapper, I'm going to do it. I don't think these nutritional facts are going to break the bank for me. I don't make these exceptions for sugar, Pasta, processed foods, bread (exception of whole grain, once in a blue moon), alcohol, or simple carbs in general. My exception is a wonton wrapper. It's crazy about all the conflicting info. Even on here, I find people are ALWAYS saying things that go against my program rules. But such as life. There is a 1,000 fad diets for a reason. Every person, doctor, or tom, d**k, or harry thinks their way is the best way.

And, if I'm reading that correctly, those stats are for if you eat EIGHT wonton wrappers, not including the filling/toppings. I highly doubt most bariatric patients are going to be doing that! Maybe if I just ate the wrapper I could do 3-4, but what fun would that be? lol
Ylime 453 Posted April 19, 2018 Yeah, the article I read wasn't about nutrition. Just about how they end up all Gummy in your stomach similar to how Pasta does. I hadn't ever thought about it until I came across the article. I think a lot of eating after surgery is trial and error!
