Frothy, yellow diareah.. need some advice

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery 3 years ago come this June. Look and feel great in my size 9/10 jeans and medium tops! However, these past 3 days I have been having severe diareah, frothy and yellow in color. Upper part of my abdomen has been feeling gasy and full. I have been trying to drinking more fluids, and cut out any carbs, eating only Protein and veggies. Taking my Vitamins. No fever or feeling ill, but fear something is wrong.

Has any other veterans had this issue?

This is the sort of thing you should see your doctor about, especially if it has lasted three days. Foamyness is generally caused by excess fat or mucus in your stool, but this may be a symptom of a larger issue. Since you've cut out carbs though it probably means that it's not a gluten sensitivity.

I’m starting TPN because of diarrhea related issues. It can get out of control fast. I would at least give your dr. a call. I’m 3 yrs post op too. Was loving life. Now I’m bed ridden. If you are concerned it’s not something to let go quietly. You are in control of your health.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
