High impact sports w/ the band?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone talked to their doctor about this? Every summer, my family has basically a week-long reunion at a lake in Tennessee. One of the favorite activities is tubing behind a boat. Now, the way we do it, it's very rough. The whole intention is that the driver of the boat is trying to knock you off the tube, so he'll do just about anything within reason to do it (giant waves, sharp turns, knocking two tubes together, you get the picture). People have even gotten injured doing it. Why do we do it? It's a hell of a lot of fun.

Now, obviously I wasn't able to participate this past summer, since I had just been banded for 3 weeks when the reunion rolled around, but I was wondering if it would be a good idea to do it next summer. When you come off the tube, you can land very hard, and there's a lot of bouncing on your stomach (I ride lying on my stomach).

So, going back to tubing, starting next year, yea or nay? :)

I would. I never worry about stuff like that.

You're just as likely to break an arm, lol, and you dont let that stop you. You'd never hurt the actual band, maybe there's a teeny tiny minute chance you'd dislodge the port, but you could also do that in any number of ways doing much more sedate activities. I'd imagine its a small risk.

I'd take it.

That's a relief. I think what I'm looking forward to more than actually being able to tube is being able to pull myself up on the tube from the Water. :) I haven't been able to do that for a few years.

My goal in the future is to be playing College Hockey. I asked my doctor about this since I will be getting hit and hitting other people. He told me that My head would fall off before the band lol. And gave me the go for it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
