Thank you everyone! I’m waiting to see my dietician so I can be discharged today. I may be one of the lucky ones because I still have no nausea or pain besides the gas pains. I was finally able to pass gas which actually been helping. I’ve been walking a lot while here in the hospital & moving around. I’m able to keep fluids down although I’m not hungry at all. Scared for the Protein part! I’m still trying to figure out how ima get all my Water in plus protein [emoji30] I’m so happy with my decision in getting surgery! Love this app, love all the support here!

The first 24 hours were awful! Hacking, Nausea almost vomited but nothing came out because my stomach was empty. Left the Hosp, felt amazing. Then I had a low grade fever 99.8. I had the tremors in the evening, turns out I may have caught a virus while in the Hosp, which doesn’t shock me, but I began to shake all over. It was dehydration. I did it realize I didn’t drink enough Water. It was suggested I sip H2O all day/night. However, even with all that, I’m happy I had the sleeve!

I’m so sorry! Yes we need to get as much fluids in. I hope and pray your feeling better though!

Well its a combination of all those things but for me...worthy it. It's not easy in the beginning...and you make struggle...but it does get better.

Had VSG surgery this morning. I woke up with bad pain in recovery. I’m feeling better now but still having a lot of gas pains. About to go walk around the floor to see if that will help with the gas. I’ve been tired though in & out of sleep all morning. So far so good though.

Welcome to the Light(er) side Loveroxx. Hope you are feeling better today and congrats on making the decision to Live the rest of your life not just be alive.

Congrats on your journey! Hopefully you have a safe recovery! I got sleeved Nov 28 2017. I’m almost 5 months post op and I’m down 96.5 pounds in total. The gas will pass I know if uncomfortable but it will. I had a Teddy Bear I held and he helped with putting alittle pressure on my tummy every now and then but follow what your doctors orders are. Keep up the walking! It helps a lot! And when in bed make sure your are comfortable. Also make sure no sick people come around you for awhile since your post op. I had a lot happen to me when I was not even a month post op and I’m recovering from a near death experience that got brought on by the flu. Drink your Water and take your Vitamins. That is key to helping! And follow your diet plan you got to a T it helps as well. And there will be things you don’t like and things you do and you’ll come to find out what those are in time but I wish you the very best and if you have any questions about anything don’t hesitate to ask! Goodluck on your journey!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
