Here's mine!

I'm 6 1/2 weeks post-RNY surgery. I'm cleared to eat regular foods (even raw veggies and salads--hooray)!!! I'm supposed to shoot for 60-80g of daily Protein and let the other macros fall where they may, and that's all the advice my RD gave. She said using protein drinks will help meet my protein goal. She also said that would take 3 meals + 2-3 Snacks to do that and for now, that's ok.

Portion Size: 1/2c by volume (about 1.75-2oz protein + .5-1oz veggies by weight)

First Brekky: Protein coffee (about 6oz Premier Protein RTD mixed in Decaf with Miralax and 2 colace pills) - 15g P

Second Brekky: Egg White Scramble with spinach, mushrooms, turkey sausage crumbles and Laughing Cow Lt cheese Wedge - 12g P

Lunch: Chopped salad with BH blackened turkey breast and hb egg (red fat feta, baby spinach, shredded cabbage, cucumbers, rbp, grape Tomato, WF Italian Dressing - 10g P

AS: 1/2 HB Egg, Hillshire Farms Naturals Black Forest Ham; 6g lightly salted almonds; 6g Utz Pork rinds - 14g P

Dinner: 2oz Grilled Salmon; .5oz grilled asparagus; .25oz avocado; 1oz grape tomatoes - 14g P

Vitamins + Water (120+ floz)

Daily Nutritional Ave: 505 cals; 65g protein; 23g fat; 22g carbs (incl vits); 9g Fiber (incl vits; 11g net carbs; 3g sugar

4 months out from sleeve. Calorie intake/day anywhere from 450-600 calories. Macro goals: 60 Protein, less than 70carbs (Under 50 is my preference), less than 30g fat. TBH I don't always hit my protein, but I get at least 50, so that's close? :|

Breakfast: Daily protein shake: GNC Protein Powder, 1/4c blackberries, 1c kale

Lunch: This past week has been italian meatballs with a whopping 26g protein each. I eat 2 and I'm full. Other times it's a random protein based recipe I make. My go-tos are mushroom chicken and wonton taco cups.

Dinner: More of the above protein based dishes, or most recently it's been 1/2c fiber one Cereal to get my fiber in...to stay regular...which is super important. :D PSA: 1/2c serving has like, 18g fiber in it!

I'm not a huge fan of cooking, but I'm an avid pinterest-er and all of my protein based recipes come from there. I highely recommend searching "high protein meals" or something if anyone out there is struggling with food choices.

Wow! Love the sound of your day! So about how much food by volume are you eating per meal? And will you please share your protein-bitchin recipe for those meatballs please? They sound fabotastic and I want to make some!!

I also love the sound of your kale smoothie. I am excited to start doing mine again. I use spinach, and frozen blueberries with a scoop of Isopure Bananas and Cream PP--but any kind will do!

I also love fiber one! I add slivered almonds to a mixture of 2% cottage cheese/Grk yogurt and frozen blueberries. So satisfying and keeps me full for hours!!

Thanks for playing! I'm gonna check out Pinterest High Protein Meals for sure!!

Four months post bypass for me. I aim for around 70-80 grams of Protein daily, and under 50 grams carbs a day. My volume of food varies depending on what I eat.

Breakfast I usually eat two eggs scrambled, one egg over medium with turkey sausage, or occasionally a packet of the weight control oatmeal.

I am not a huge lunch eater I may eat a Greek yogurt for a snack, or have some turkey bites with some string cheese. If I’m not real hungry I’ve been having a slim fast Protein Shake with the caffeine in it. If I have lunch it’s usually a small salad, or chicken salad.

For dinner I usually have 3-4 ounces of fish or chicken. If room I will eat some veggies. I like salmon and tilapia. I also make a lot of different chicken meals in my slow cooker that can be shredded as I tolerate that better than whole chicken still. In general I still tolerate Soups, chili, and such very easily and I make these to take to work with me.

Very dense protein is the most filling and I cannot eat much of that. A Soup or chili that is meaty with some Beans I can eat more of.

I average 600 - 850 or so calories a day.

The breakfast smoothie after everything turns into liquified grossness gives me at least 20oz (which I totally count towards my 64oz requirement). When I remember to use my food scale I'd say lunch/dinner are 2-4oz. I'm still feeling quite restricted in terms of how much my sleeve feels like letting me ingest. But I'm okay with that and I'll ride it out as long as I keep losing!

My kale smoothie and I are frenemies. I really don't like kale, but it's got fiber and it's freakin' good for you so I suck it up. :)

Recipe for meatballs: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/real-meatballs-and-spaghetti-recipe-1946027 I ignored the whole "put these on top of spaghetti noodles" part, but my boyfriend appreciated not having to just eat straight up meatballs :D

Lovely!

So to both @redhead_che and @KimTriesRNY - can I ask please? Do you remember the quantity you were eating at 6weeks? What did your day look like?

Thanks for the meatball recipe! It's almost the same as my dad's recipe but with different spices! How cool is that? :)

At 6 weeks I ate the way I do now, 3 meals a day, no Snacks. Breakfast at that time was always a Premier Protein (11oz), which took about 2 hours to drink. (6a-8a ish) Lunch/Dinner were only 1.5 to 2oz per my surgeon's program. I ate a lot of good quality lunch meat like turkey or ham. Lunch was 11a and dinner 5pm. I never felt hungry in between. I tried to eat some veggies on the side like green Beans or steamed broccoli, but if I recall I wasn't usually successful because of the "protein first" rule.

Thank you! You know, the hardest part for me is not having a set roadmap. I hate the kinds of diets that don't give you exact quantities. LOL. So like South Beach and I? Gah! Hate it! LOL.

I'm super afraid of overeating cuz I can eat so well with no food intolerance! :(

I use my fitness pal so I’m looking at my middle of January log here. Six weeks was when I was first cleared for salad and Protein bars, so I see lots of salads on here lol.

My days are very similar though. Same calorie range, same foods. Lots of chicken burgers, turkey meatballs, fish, cottage cheese, salads, yogurts, etc.

The only food I tried so far I was really intolerant of was diced ham at six weeks. I’m not intolerant of any food I have tried since then.

Quantity wise I’ve been able to eat two eggs since about 7 weeks out. I can drink a Protein Shake in a few minutes. I can eat 3 oz of say a chicken burger but 6 oz of Soup or yogurt. I can eat one egg with two small turkey sausage patties. I can eat 4 oz of cottage cheese. If I try to eat whole pieces of chicken, I can eat only five or six small pieces no matter how well I chew it or what sauce it’s in.

I have not eaten bread or Pasta. I have eaten a few fork fulls of rice with some chicken curry I made.

I am human, I did eat the top of a cupcake at Easter.

Hope this helps lol.

Tremendously!!! TY!!

I had huge plans to have 2 SF Reese's PB Cup Minis. LOL. I never got around to it. Isn't that so weird? In the past, that would have been my pre-brekky with coffee on Easter Morning!

Did the cupcake top and icing make you feel bad or dump?

Nope. Not one bit. Unfortunately or fortunately I am pretty sure I am a non dumping gastric bypass patient .

I’m a little over 15 weeks out from bypass.

I’m having-

A full 11 oz premiere shake for breakfast finished between 4-5 am (30 protein)

Mid morning snack around 930 - oikos triple zero yogurt (15 protein)

Lunch around 12:30- 4 oz (or 1/2 c) of a lean meat like ground turkey, rotisserie chicken or sometimes egg salad with light mayo (egg salad is more like 1 egg versus oz or volume and if I do this then sometimes I eat two but over a couple of hours )

Mid afternoon snack (around 330) of a low fat cheese stick

Dinner around 6 pm- tends to be more volume of-3/4 cup of things like ground turkey, thin chicken breast or fish with veggies

At night 1-2 sugar free popsicles

I haven’t had ANY food limitations around what I can eat . I get hiccups as a part of the tell I’m full but otherwise I can also eat quickly (typically takes 15-20 min ish??) and isn’t at all an issue to eat fast . The volume and oz aren’t an issue either- I literally need to “look” for the sign I’m full . All the above said— that scares the crap out of me because I feel like I could easily eat whatever I want - and quickly .

I haven’t tried any “bad” foods yet so I am also assuming I’ll get sick from high sugar or fat so that fear is keeping me to eating at least healthier options . Worst thing eaten?.... went out to a restaurant and had limited options. My meal came with sour cream mixed with it

5 months post sleeve

B: coffee with premier caramel shake then
Greek yogurt

Coffee Tea Water

L: random lately (turkey, chicken, fish or lamb with veggies) or Beans

Coffee Tea Water

S: Peanuts, chocolate chips and raisins

Coffee Tea Water

D: random lately ( mostly beans , yogurt or re run from lunch )

Protein goals 60 g daily
Though not focusing on it the past 3 weeks trying to head back towards vegan lifestyle

Funny story
I was on vacation and I tried authentic panna cotta (spelling ?) and had my first true dumping syndrome experience (without the release)

So I'm hold up in this gorgeous Parisian bathroom looking at the frescos on the ceilings while sitting in the floor

I thought I was dying but I appreciated the view

Lesson learned
I will never forget my new limits

@Tealael Oh man on the dumping from panna cotta while being in Paris! :( Hope it passes quickly. ((hugs)) Maybe you should take a piccy for us of the ceilings while you're just "laying around," so we can experience part of your world tour? :D :D :D Feel better soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
