Isopure vs. Premier Clear?

Recommended Posts

Just a question... I'm trying to buy some Protein Shakes and drinks so I'm ready for after my surgery. Has anyone tried Isopure zero carb and premier clear? Which do you prefer and why?

I drink both. Premier clear taste too sweet so I mix it with Water. It’s good when it’s watered down. Isopure is good depending on the flavors. I love the Isopure zero carb lemonade flavor.

Thanks! Any other flavors you like? I'm not a lemonade person... too tart lol Do they taste weird? Like protein-y? If that makes sense haha

For isopure.. Apple melon, grape & pineapple orange banana were good. The after taste taste more like a yogurty after taste. Lol at least to me. The premier clean doesn’t have that much of an after taste or taste like Protein. Just sweet. Super sweet lol.

I've had the apple melon Isopure, and it was pretty yummy, though kind of intense and I will probably dilute it if I get it again. The green tea with lemon one was okay but not nearly as good, and had a much stronger aftertaste. The only problem with Isopure is the cost, to me. Haven't had the Premier clear.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to try both this weekend. I'm a super picky person and I don't like anything that has a weird after taste... I hope I like at least one of them! I don't want to just drink shakes all the time... :64_zipper_mouth:

On to premier clear!

I haven't tried Isopure, but Premier Clear has a strange consistency to me. Almost slimey or oily.

I thought premier tasted awful!!! Plus they only have one flavor which I didn’t like to begin with. I did try protein20 and love it!

That’s good to hear! They do have an orange flavor on Amazon but I doubt it’s any better. Those milky shakes are always hard for me so I’m hoping to find a better solution

Yuck... I'll probably hate premier too. The Isopure had this really strong/weird after taste... which is disappointing. It was like $5 a bottle too!

Think of it as getting-ready-for-surgery medicine. Hope you don't have to hold your nose while you drink. Have you tried Muscle Milk or one of the other brands? Some have made their own with skim milk and Protein powders, or used almond milk. I have faith you'll find the right answer for YOU[emoji13]

Hey... If you're looking for a tasty Protein Shake my favorites are ensure light vanilla... They are 70 calls per bottle and not thick or chalky like shakes you have to mix yourself. I also like Premier Protein shakes . They come in banana vanilla strawberry chocolate and sunflower. They are about 100 calls or so per bottle and taste great and they cost about 6$ or so in Walmart. They won't make you feel gassy or bloated either. As for waters I don't like fruit favors in my Water but if you do the propel waters they gave me after my surgery were ok. You can also try the muscle milk

Thanks!! I'll have to try ensure! Premier is good and not that expensive. I'm so sick of chocolate Protein shakes! I need to get into other flavors but... i'm not an adventurous eater lol

I love Vitamin Water zero! & propel is good! I'm looking for protein waters though. Have you tried any??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
