Thatsexy_67 32 Posted April 6, 2018 Good morning all!!!! I am prepping for VSG and I wanted to know if anyone here has had the surgery done with twilight anesthesia? I have had both hips and both knees replaced and 3 of them were with twilight anesthesia. I get really nauseated and sick from general anesthesia and I figured that would be painful to say the least after VSG. I find that recovery from twilight anesthesia is much shorter and no sore throat from a tube being inserted in your throat. I plan on talking with my Dr. once I see him again (already had the consult) and hopefully he will concur. Thanks
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted April 6, 2018 I think a lot of us have "sorta twilight" anesthesia these days. Propofol is used on a lot of us. And it results in quicker waking and gets out of our system quicker. The scary side of this, is that many people under propofol can respond to requests for things like "Move your fingers, squeeze my hand." That sort of thing. I have had it each surgery and do great on it. Wake up chirpy and talking and is if I've never been "out."
