Today makes 3 weeks post op. I’m currently on soft foods. I noticed that everytime i eat, my food tries to come back up. Im at the point that i really only want to drink liquids because im sick of going through the regurgitation. Does anyone else experience this?

Had that feeling the first couple soft food meals. I cut back the size and worked back up to the 1/2 cup volume for meals in about a week.

I'm five weeks out and I still get that. Some days are better than others. The acid reflux, heart burn, and nausea are no joke. I'm at the doctor's office now for a follow up. My surgery was 2/27/18 and I'm down 30lbs.

My doctor told me to back off of some solid foods (meats have a hard time going down). My biggest problem is I'm eating too fast ( I kinda of knew this). So today I'm going to reset, I also don't think I'm eating enough or often enough so I'm going to keep my Premier Protein drink on hand and sip on it between meals and through out the day. Hopefully this will help.

I had this at week 4. I went to the doc and he sent me straight back to the hospital. He said it was a stricture. The stricture did not show up on a cat scan. I had an endoscopy and they had to put a balloon in to dilate it so I can eat. Can take two or three dilation for it to be fixed. I started unable to keep food down, then Soups, then I was unable to even keep Water.< br>

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
