Absolutely! I started my 2week diet today.. I think I'm more worried about that than the actual surgery! 🤣

its actually not so bad as long as you get plenty of Protein in....it has kept me fuller longer....sugar free Popsicle...jello...broth... ( i added in greek yogurt that wasn't on my plan...but has helped tremendously)

Not that i want to sabotage myself by adding things not on my list...but i have asked around and lots of people were successful adding it in...and i really feel that if i dont add it in.. i will just blow it and cheat ( i know my flaws)

you will do great...

a few tips:

Drink a gallon of Water everyday. I thought this was alot at first...but once i got started...it wasn't that difficult. And it will surely help keep you full.

Also, i bought Isopure unflavored...which is just a protient poweder to add to anything. Its unflavored and helps me get my protien in. I have been adding it to my broth. It thickens it up just a big and after lunch im about stuffed!

Good luck lady! Keep me posted on how you are doing!

I'm scheduled for bypass on April 26th. I have a 10 day pre-op diet that starts on the 16th. I am so ready for surgery! The 26th seems so far away even though I know it's right around the corner [emoji23]

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
