it'sonlythefirststep 141 Posted April 3, 2018 Well before surgery I have been going through menopause for the last 3 yrs. Last period over 9 months ago. Well after having surgery 2 weeks ago the curse is back with a big pow! Cramps and doubled over... my questions is it safe to use a heating pad and laying on my stomach (if I am able to)? That was the only way I was able to get relief from my period before. Now a new count down till I reach complete menopause. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
bbudee 58 Posted April 3, 2018 I'm not sure if the crazy period is normal but for the first 8 months after my gastric bypass I had periods from hell too and I would get them every other week and sometimes super plus tampons would slip out the second I put it in. I was hating life. I thought I was going through menopause but dr said no. Now I'm 15 months out and I get my period like normal. As far as the heating pad and laying on your stomach it's safe as long as you can bare it. I wasn't able to sleep on my stomach for the first 3 months after surgery. That's my story goodluck! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

That's my story goodluck!I saw my ob gyn and I am going through the early stages of menopause. I thought my period after having kids was bad. I laid on my stomach for a little bit but I have to find my heating pad. Maybe it will help with the pain of my period. Not having any pain from surgery, I just want to scratch... healing process so I don’t. Thank you for your story. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Numbheart 108 Posted May 21, 2018 for a heating pad, use a cherry stone pillow, the stones in the pillow act like a massage on the stomach that increases the blood flow that would decrease cramps. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
