Czuck1983 114 Posted April 2, 2018 So wanted to post a small update. I'm now one week post-op and while I still have some mild discomforts at times, I've been feeling pretty good. I have been struggling to get all of my fluids in. My surgeon wants me drinking 32oz a day of Water plus one 12oz shake broken down over the day. I haven't kept a solid water count, but I'm likely getting about 20oz or do and drinking half of the shake each day. Despite these little issues, I'm doing really well. Down 13lbs since last Monday and I'm looking forward to returning to work on Wednesday. Creekimp13 5,840 Posted April 2, 2018 If you're a week out and not drinking any more than that...you're going to end up in trouble with dehydration soon. Please drink more Water. It's extremely irritating to have to visit an emergency room due to dehydration that could have been prevented.

People have different reactions to different temperatures so try different temperature things (even warm water). As other people have mentioned dehydration at this point can set you back (though you probably aren't in danger at this point).
Czuck1983 114 Posted April 2, 2018 I've kept myself satisfied, don't feel too thirsty overall. I should add I do have a cup of broth and a sugar free ice pop each day as well. So I guess my liquid intake is probably slightly higher overall. Sent from my VS988 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Hopeful_GS reacted to this

Down to the day and the amount of liquid you are taking in! I’ve only lost 7lbs since surgery but I’m still holding onto a lot of Water. Looking forward to the end of the week!
