Am I doing okay?

Recommended Posts

Okay... need some guidance/confirmations here....I’m in full liquid /purée stage...

Surgery was Tuesday, went home Friday, started purée Saturday, and it’s Sunday...

Yesterday I had:

Apple sauce for breky (i found it takes my blood thinner med and dissolves well, plus I can finish the whole little cup, so I can ensure I get all my med)

About half an Atkins Protein Shake for lunch

Some Campbell’s Tomato bisque for lunch (only had a few bites)

More shake in the afternoon,

Apple sauce for dinner (wasn’t really hungry)

And some vanilla pudding with Protein powder mixed in for dessert.

Thoughts?

I got about the same today, different Soups.

Yesterday got about 40’oz of Water / sugar free Powerade... today approaching 60oz...

I feel like I’m progressing okay... but my

Folks (who I’m staying with during recovery) more so my mom is on me every 20-30 minutes nagging about diet and what I’m eating...

telling me to calendar because I can’t decide what to eat...

I’m having trouble deciding what to eat because I have little appetite so I’m trying to decide on something that won’t make me Nauseated as I try to force it down cause I know I need to eat...

I’m a DS

That’s sort of what I have been doing. A Premier Protein when I wake up, then my three meals have been either a yogurt, apple sauce, or Soup. And then another Protein Shake at night. But I’m at 68oz Water not including Protein shakes... some people count that into it.

I have been setting timers for drinking and eating. I am wondering if this is a cautionary thing my doctor suggests just to start? 1-2 oz every 10-15 minutes. Water or protein shake or food. I’m at 2 oz water/ protein shake per ten minutes and it goes down fine. [emoji1303]

It sounds like your doing ok, I was 411 when I started and am currently 325, my surgery was 1/22/18, it fell off fast in the first mont but has slowed down, about 3-5 lbs a week, I eat what I can but I know what you mean about hard decisions and making sure you get enough in, it’s tough, I think your doing fine, keep up the great work

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
